A multi-function electronic device is constructed in two parts. A communication part is a self sufficient device for providing multiple functions, such as, cellular phone, PDA, camera, and others. A cover part has a receptacle for receiving the communication part. The cover part includes a lid that is movable from an open position to a position extending over the receptacle. A keyboard is constructed in the lid for use when the lid is in the open position and the communication part is in the cover part.

In a multi-function electronic device, consists of a display mounted on the body of the device and two slidable panels mounted in the body for extension and retraction into the body. The body includes a base panel extending outward. One panel contains a keypad for use in conjunction with the display. The other panel contains a portion of a full function keyboard that cooperates with another portion of the full function keyboard mounted on the base panel. The full function keyboard is provided for operation with the display.

In a multi-function electronic device, consists of a display mounted on the device and a two part cover with each cover part slidable on the device in opposite directions for covering and exposing the display. The two part cover is equipped with a full function keyboard.
