For producing a cylindrical surface that has a surface structure of predetermined geometry suitable for application of material by thermal spraying, a geometrically predetermined groove structure of minimal depth and width is introduced into the surface by a tool embodied as a follow-on tool in that a groove cross-section is processed successively to a final size. In order for the surface to be producible in mass production with constant quality, the groove structure is worked in such that first a base groove is introduced with a groove bottom width that is smaller than the groove bottom width of the finished groove. Subsequently, at least one flank of the base groove is processed for producing an undercut groove profile by a non-cutting action or cutting action wherein the introduced groove structure is deformed in such a way that the groove openings are constricted by upsetting deformations of material.

Method and tool for producing a surface of predetermined roughness

A machining tool that comprises a cutting part and a base that supports the cutting part. The base and/or the cutting part are made at least in part of a fiber-reinforced plastic. In some embodiments, the fiber-reinforced plastic is CFRP or CFC.

A rotationally driven multi-bevel step tool comprises a plurality of single- or multi-edged cutting steps arranged in a staggered manner in a cutting and feeding direction, a number of flutes in each step corresponding to the number of cutting edges in each corresponding step, at least one web, and at least one swarf window. Flutes which are adjacent in the circumferential direction in each step are delimited from one another by at least one of the at least one web. The flutes which are adjacent in the circumferential direction, of two successive cutting steps, are connected to one another by at least one of the at least one swarf window, the at least one of the at least one swarf window penetrating the web located therebetween and being open on the circumferential side.

Rotationally driven multi-bevel step tool

A machining tool comprising at least one plate-shaped cutting insert made of impact- and/or wear-resistant cutting material at least in some sections and which is adhesively bonded to a cutter holder directly by means of an adhesive layer in an immovable manner by means of a contact surface arrangement, the cutting insert substantially prism-shaped. A base area of the prism is adhesively bonded to the cutting insert holder substantially over the full area, a jacket surface arrangement of the prism adjacent to the cutting edge for spatially fixing the cutter is drawn to the tool, and a section of the jacket surface arrangement substantially opposite the cutting edge is caught in a fitting groove of the cutting insert holder.

Machining tool and method for producing same

Described is a multi-blade cutting and drilling finishing tool for machining deep or stepped bores. The tool comprises at least a first blade set having a nominal diameter and blades distributed essentially uniformly over the circumference. In order to make it easier to guide the tool along the central axis, a guiding strip set in the form of very accurately positioned cutting inserts is located axially behind the first blade set with respect to the axial direction of the tool in which the tool advances forward to machine the deep or stepped bores. Each of the cutting inserts is aligned with one of the blades of the first blade set in a direction parallel to an axis of the tool, and each of the cutting inserts has a nominal diameter which is smaller than the nominal diameter of the first blade set by essentially twice the size of a lubrication gap forming between the guiding strip set and the deep or stepped bores when the tool is used.

Multi-blade cutting and drilling finishing tool

The face miller is equipped with a plurality of plate-shaped hard material cutting inserts that are distributed over the circumference. The hard material cutting inserts are located on a graduated circle in pockets of a blade carrier and have a main cutting edge, which is adjusted at a cutting edge angle smaller than 90&#xb0; relative to the working plane of the miller. In order to ensure maximum machining performance at a good service life, the cutting edge angle is selected to range between 10&#xb0; and 30&#xb0;, wherein the main cutting edge at the same time has a slightly convex design. The main cutting edge transitions into the secondary cutting edge via a transition radius having a value that ranges between 0.5 and 1.5 mm. The axial rake angle ranges between 20 and 30&#xb0;. According to an advantageous further development, the radial rake angle ranges between &#x2212;6&#xb0; and &#x2212;10&#xb0;.
