A computer-implemented method includes receiving data structures in memory space and creating micro-heaps on a per-data structure basis. Each data structure is associated with a micro-heap allocator. The method also includes storing the data structures in a key-value store. Values of the key-value store are associated with the data structures. A computer program product includes one or more computer readable storage media, and program instructions collectively stored on the one or more computer readable storage media. The program instructions include program instructions to perform the foregoing method. A system includes a processor and logic integrated with the processor, executable by the processor, or integrated with and executable by the processor. The logic is configured to perform the foregoing method.

Pointer-based dynamic data structures in key-value stores

A method, a device, a system, a computer program product, and a computer system drives a vehicle with vision assistance. The device includes an imager vertically extendable from a surface of a vehicle from a retracted position to an extended position. The imager is configured to capture images from a predetermined height above the vehicle while the imager is in the extended position. The device includes a mount coupled to the imager and having an extendable length to position the imager in the retracted position and the extended position. The worker nodes have a plurality of tasks executing thereon, and each of the tasks has at least one distributed dataset associated therewith. Each of the worker nodes has a distributed dataset cache. At least one of the following is carried out: increasing a size of a given one of the distributed dataset caches if the memory usage statistics indicate that corresponding ones of the tasks are using too little memory; and decreasing a size of another given one of the distributed dataset caches if the memory usage statistics indicate contention between corresponding ones of the tasks and a corresponding one of the distributed datasets.
