A display apparatus includes a display; an image collector or a user input interface configured to connect with the image collector; one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to cause the display apparatus to: in response to a switch command for a gesture detection function switch on a user interface, detect whether the image collector is occupied by a specified application that needs to start the image collector based on an attribute state of the image collector; in response to the attribute state being a first state, determine that the image collector is occupied by the specified application that needs to start the image collector, and not perform a gesture detection function; in response to the attribute state being a second state, determine that the image collector is not occupied by the specified application that needs to start the image collector, and perform the gesture detection function.

The controller is configured for: obtaining a reference image captured by the camera, where the reference image comprises one or more persons with one or more face patterns; extracting a tracking target area from the reference image according to a current imaging parameter of the camera, where the tracking target area is a regular-shaped area determined according to one or more weights for the one or more face patterns, the current imaging parameter of the camera comprises a focal length of the lens component of the camera; and sending a rotation instruction to the camera to adjust an orientation of the camera to cause the tracking target area locate in a middle area of an image presented on the display.
