Nano- and micro-particles (NMP) can be formed from an oil/water emulsion. The emulsion is made by mixing a liquid solvent, at least one surfactant, a particle-forming compound, and at least curing agent. If desired, pH control agents and viscosity enhancers can be added to the liquid solvent. The particle-forming compound and the curing agents are mixed together and form the oil phase in the emulsion and after curing, the particles are formed. The nano- and micro-particles can be used as proppant to enhance the conductivity of nano- and microfractures and fluid-loss-control additive for hydraulic fracturing operations.

Method for making nano- and micro-particles for use as a proppant and fluid-loss-control additive

A fracturing fluid for fracturing subterranean formations comprising ascorbic acid. The fracturing fluid can use ascorbic acid to delay increases in viscosity until desired. The viscosity increase can then be maintained over a period of time to perform fracturing operations.

Low concentration synthetic polymer fracturing fluid with ascorbic acid

A polyacrylamide friction reducer wherein the friction reducer contains surfactant functional groups, and wherein the polyacrylamide friction reducer is degradable, can be used for multi-functional, slickwater fracturing fluid projects. Under downhole conditions, the polymer degrades and releases the surfactant molecules to act as oil displacing agent to provide additional stimulation.

Degradable friction reducer for hydraulic fracturing treatments

The method for well-stimulation through a wellbore in a rock formation is hydraulic fracturing under high temperature conditions. The method includes injecting a fracturing fluid system to the rock formation; fracturing the rock formation at a temperature between 150-260 degrees Celsius; and recovering fluid components of the fracturing fluid system from the wellbore and setting the proppant in the fractures. The fracturing fluid system includes proppant and a plurality of fluid components. The fluid components can include water, a gelling agent, and a stabilizer made of ascorbic acid ranging from 50-100 ppt so as to adjust pH and delay said cross linking agent.

Method for a fracturing fluid system at high temperatures

The fracturing fluid system includes proppant and a plurality of fluid components. The fluid components can include water, a gelling agent, and a stabilizer made of ascorbic acid. The ascorbic acid stabilizes viscosity of the gelling agent, adjusts pH, and delays cross linking. Amount of components and additional components, such as a cross-linking agent, a breaker, another adjusting agent and an inverting surfactant adjust the fracturing fluid system for well conditions and a type of treatment to be completed.

The present invention is directed to fracturing fluids having temperature-sensitive viscosities. The fracturing fluids may include a mixture of a hydrophobically associative polymer (HAP) and a surfactant in an aqueous medium, wherein the surfactant imparts a critical solution temperature (CST) to the fluid. The fluid is more viscous at temperatures lower than the CST as compared to temperatures above the CST.
