Provided, in at least one aspect, is a valve, a method for sealing, and a related well system. The valve, in one aspect, includes a housing, and a sliding sleeve disposed in the housing and defining an annular flow path between the sliding sleeve and the housing, the sliding sleeve configured to move from a closed positioned closing the annular flow path to an open position opening the flow path. The valve, in at least one other aspect, further includes a plug member positioned within the annular flow path, the plug member comprising a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal the annular flow path.

The disclosure presents processes to locate one or more quantum gravimeters at a hydrocarbon well site, with at least one quantum gravimeter at a surface location. One or more additional gravimeters, whether quantum gravimeters or non-quantum gravimeters, can be located downhole a wellbore of the well site. Gravitational data collected from various gravimeters can be analyzed to produce analyzed gravitational parameters and subterranean formation parameters. In some aspects, the gravitational data can be processed, such as by an inversion algorithm or a noise reduction algorithm. The generated results can be used to calibrate non-quantum gravimeters located proximate the well site or downhole the wellbore, identify a depth and direction of a water front, identify the fluid flow of hydrocarbons or water in the subterranean formation, to identify orphaned hydrocarbon reservoirs, or other characteristics of fluid flow or subterranean formation parameters, such as subterranean formation damage.

Provided, in at least one aspect, is a displacement plug for us in a wellbore tubular, a method for entering a well system, and a related well system. The displacement plug, in one aspect, includes a plug body for landing in a wellbore tubular, wherein at least a portion of the plug body comprises a metal configured to expand in response to hydrolysis to seal against the wellbore tubular. The displacement plug, in one or more aspects, additionally includes one or more displacement features engaged with the plug body for displacing the plug body downhole.

A system comprising a tubing encased conductor (TEC), a transformer inductively coupled to the TEC, and a wireless downhole device coupled to the transformer. The wireless downhole device may include a transceiver configured to receive and/or transmit, from the transformer, a digital signal encoded in a variable current in the TEC. The digital signal may correspond to a command. In some aspects, the wireless downhole device may be powered via the transformer, a battery, or a turbine.

A downhole packer system includes a swellable material configured to expand to seal against a wellbore wall in response to exposure to downhole fluids. The downhole packer system also includes at least one sensor disposed proximate the swellable material. The at least one sensor is configured to measure one or more electrical properties of the swellable material to determine a degree of expansion of the swellable material.

A downhole valve position sensing system includes a magnetic material that is shiftable by an actuation member of a downhole valve to a plurality of positions along a downhole valve from a first position of the plurality of positions along the downhole valve. The downhole valve position sensing system also includes a sensor assembly that is mechanically coupled to the downhole valve and comprising a magnetic sensor that is configured to detect a magnetic signal generated by the magnetic material at a set of positions of the plurality of positions along the downhole valve.

A mechanism for setting a packer comprises a piston disposed within a port of a packer mandrel, wherein the port comprises a seat operable to receive the piston. The mechanism further comprises a first chamber disposed at a first end of the piston, wherein the first chamber is sealed and comprises atmospheric pressure. The mechanism further comprises a spring disposed at a second end of the piston. The mechanism further comprises a second chamber disposed at the second end of the piston, wherein the second chamber comprises atmospheric pressure.

Disclosed herein are embodiments of a production valve. In one embodiment, a production valve includes a tubular having one or more first openings therein; a sliding member positioned within the tubular and having one or more second openings therein, configured to move between a first closed position wherein the first openings are offset from the second openings to close a fluid path and a second open position wherein the first openings are aligned with the second openings to open the fluid path; a remote open member positioned within the tubular, coupled to the sliding member in the first position and decoupled from the sliding member in the second position; and a first and second seal positioned between the tubular and at least one of the sliding member or remote open member, the first seal having a first seal area, and the second seal having a second greater seal area.
