A method for manufacturing a heat exchanger includes stacking a plurality of parting sheets, a plurality of lengthwise closure bars, and a plurality of widthwise closure bars to form a rectangular first heat exchanger section. The first heat exchanger section includes at least one widthwise passage extending between a pair of the widthwise closure bars and at least one lengthwise passage extending between a pair of the lengthwise closure bars. The method also includes brazing the rectangular first heat exchanger section together and cutting a first side and a second side of the rectangular first heat exchanger section to give the first heat exchanger section a tapered-trapezoid profile. The method further includes brazing an end of a second heat exchanger section to the first or second side of the first heat exchanger section.

Method for manufacturing a curved heat exchanger using wedge shaped segments

A heat exchanger with increased heat transfer capability includes first and second end plates, tubes extending between the first and second end plates and fins disposed between the tubes. The heat exchanger is disposable within and differs in shape from a space defined between first and second walls such that corners of the first end plate abut the first wall and a point of the second end plate abuts the second wall, the first wall diverges from the corners of the first end plate to define a first open region and the second wall diverges from the point of the second end plate to define second open regions. At least one of the first end plate and the second end plates includes enhancements fluidly communicative with the at least one corresponding one of the first open region and the second open regions.

Heat exchanger with enhanced end sheet heat transfer

An outlet manifold is provided and includes an outlet portion having first and second sides and an inlet portion to which the outlet portion is fluidly coupled. The inlet portion has first and second sides corresponding to the first and second sides of the outlet portion. Each of the first and second sides of the inlet portion includes one or more tubular members connectable with corresponding tube joints and a mixing chamber fluidly interposed between each of the one or more tubular members and the outlet portion.

Outlet manifold

A heat exchanger assembly includes first and second annular ducts, first and second airflow pathways, and heat exchanger. The first airflow pathway is configured to transport a first airflow and is disposed within the first annular duct. The second annular duct is disposed radially outward from the first annular duct. The second airflow pathway is configured to transport a second airflow and is disposed between the first and second annular ducts. The heat exchanger includes inner and outer portions. The inner portion is disposed radially inward of the first annular duct and is fluidly connected to the first airflow pathway. The outer portion is disposed between the first and second annular ducts and is fluidly connected to the second airflow pathway. The heat exchanger is configured to cool a third airflow with both of the first and second airflows from the first and second airflow pathways.

Curved heat exchanger

An end cap configured for use with a recirculation heat exchanger of an aircraft environmental control system includes a body having an inlet section adjacent an inlet end, an outlet section adjacent an outlet end, and a transition section fluidly coupling the inlet section and the outlet section. The inlet section includes a generally rounded portion having a radius of about 0.870 inches (2.21 cm) and at least one flange formed at a side of the rounded portion. An exterior of the flange is positioned at a distance of about 1.012 from an origin of the rounded portion.

Heat exchanger

A mount configured for use with a recirculation heat exchanger of an aircraft environmental control is provided including a rectangular base having a length of about 14 inches (35.56 cm) and a width of about 6 inches (15.24 cm). A support extends vertically from the base. A top surface of the support is arranged at a 10&#xb0; angle below a horizontal plane.

A cross-support bracket for a cabin air compressor assembly includes a mating portion having a first group of apertures at a first end and a second group of apertures at a second end. A reference line is defined between a lowermost primary aperture of the first group of apertures and a lowermost primary aperture of the second group of apertures. A stiffener portion is formed along a lower edge of the mating portion. A curved region is formed in the mating portion between a first and second upper edge of the mating portion. The curved region includes a first curved portion, a substantially straight portion, and a second curved portion. A ratio of a radius of the first and second curved portions of the curved region to a length from the substantially straight portion to the reference line is between 9.06 and 10.19.

Cabin air compressor cross-support bracket

A support bracket for a cabin air compressor (CAC) assembly includes a CAC mounting portion with a plurality of CAC mounting holes distributed in an arc configuration along a CAC mounting hole circle radius defined from an origin. A support portion includes a ramped face that transitions to an upper lug portion and a substantially perpendicular face relative to the CAC mounting portion. An upper lug includes a coupling hole offset from a first CAC mounting hole at a first length in a first direction and a second length in a second direction. The first CAC mounting hole is offset from the origin by a third length in the first direction and a fourth length in the second direction. A ratio of the first length to the third length is between 0.48 and 0.50, and a ratio of the second length to the fourth length is between 2.48 and 2.54.

Cabin air compressor support bracket

A cabin supply bracket for a cabin supply duct assembly is provided. The cabin supply bracket includes a base plate with a first, second, and third mounting hole distributed in a substantially triangular arrangement. The first mounting hole has a centerline defined therethrough. A coupling socket extends from the base plate. The coupling socket includes a first and second tie rod coupling support having a tie rod coupling hole formed therethrough and a first and second outer edge. The first outer edge is proximate the second mounting hole, and the second outer edge is proximate the third mounting hole. The coupling socket has a socket width defined between a first socket edge proximate the first outer edge and a second socket edge proximate the second outer edge. A ratio of the socket width to a thickness of the base plate is between 6.31 and 7.84.

Cabin supply bracket

A support bracket for a cabin air compressor (CAC) assembly includes a CAC mounting portion formed substantially orthogonal to an access portion and a structural support portion. A cross-support bracket mounting portion is formed at an angle relative to the access portion. An upper lug portion is formed at an angle relative to the access portion and substantially orthogonal to an upper lug. A plurality of CAC mounting holes is formed in the CAC mounting portion. The CAC mounting holes are distributed in an arc configuration along a CAC mounting hole circle radius. A plurality of lower slotted holes and an upper slotted hole are formed in the cross-support bracket mounting portion. A ratio of the CAC mounting hole circle radius to a length defined between the lower slotted holes and the upper slotted hole is between 5.93 and 6.25.

A support bracket for a cabin air compressor (CAC) assembly includes a CAC mounting portion with a plurality of CAC mounting holes distributed in an arc configuration along a CAC mounting hole circle radius. An upper lug extends from the upper lug portion. The upper lug includes a coupling hole that is offset from a first CAC mounting hole of the CAC mounting holes at a length in a first direction and a length in a second direction. A ratio of the CAC mounting hole circle radius to the length in the first direction is between 2.14 and 2.20, and a ratio of the CAC mounting hole circle radius to the length in the second direction is between 1.16 and 1.19.
