Disclosed systems and methods relate to a smart access control reader for an access control system. According to embodiments, a method can include installing the smart access control reader to the access control system by connecting the smart access control reader to the access control system via wiring of the access control system. The method can also include receiving, by the smart access control reader, one or more first credentials for authenticating one or more users by the access control system. The method can further include determining, by the smart access control reader, that the one or more first credentials are authorized. Moreover, the method can include transmitting, by the smart access control reader, a second credential to an access control panel of the access control system, in response to a request by a first user to access an area monitored by the access control system.

Systems and methods for occupant and guest interaction with a virtual environment are provided. Disclosed systems and methods enable occupants to create an event associated with a particular location in an area within a virtual environment. Disclosed systems and methods relate to a smart access control device in a security system for monitoring an area. According to embodiments, a method can include receiving, by the smart access control device, from one or more sensors in the area, sensor data about the area. The method can also include analyzing the received sensor data and generating an alert for a user about the area based on the analyzed sensor data. The method can further include transmitting, by the smart access control device, a first signal comprising the alert to a monitoring server of the security system. Moreover, the method can include enabling, by the smart access control device, a person requesting access to the area to enter identification information and granting access to the area to the person based on the received identification information that is evaluated by the user.

Scalable systems and methods for monitoring and concierge service

Locking mechanisms and methods of operating the locking mechanisms are disclosed. In one example, a locking mechanism may include a main hub assembly coupleable with a deadbolt, a clutch assembly coupled to the main hub assembly, and an actuator assembly coupled to the clutch assembly. The actuator assembly may include an actuator operable to bias a carriage along a first direction to bring the clutch assembly and the main hub assembly closer to one another along a second direction, wherein the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction. The locking mechanism may further include a thumbturn assembly coupled to the clutch assembly, the thumbturn assembly comprising a thumbturn positionable on an exterior side of a door.

A smart module configured to control electronic locking devices may include a plurality of wireless interfaces configured to operate in accordance with at least one of a plurality of wireless protocols. The smart module may include a communications interface having a plurality of pins to couple to an electronic locking device. The smart module may include a memory coupled with the plurality of wireless interfaces, processing circuitry, the communications interface, and a touch display. The memory may include instructions, that when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to receive, via the touch display, a request to cause an action on the electronic locking device, and transmit a command to the electronic locking device via the communications interface to cause the action on the electronic locking device.

Embodiments are generally directed to systems, devices, methods, and techniques to control devices via a mobile device platform in a smart building system. Embodiments further include techniques to determine a device of the smart building system and an action to perform by the device. The techniques include establishing, a connection with a smart lock of the smart system, and communicating a request to perform the action to the smart lock of the smart system.
