A system for establishing a vehicle parameter including collecting signals from a satellite and deriving a reference vehicle parameter from the satellite signals. Signals from a vehicle sensor are also collected and an estimated vehicle parameter is derived therefrom. Once the satellite signals and the estimated vehicle parameter signals are collected, parameters for a correction algorithm are generated and thereafter, the correction algorithm is applied to vehicle sensor signals to generate a corrected vehicle parameter or to generate a vehicle tire status parameter.

An electrically driven refrigeration system ( ), in particular for a vehicle air conditioner, comprises a compressor ( ), an electric motor ( ) for driving the compressor ( ), an electronic controller ( ) for controlling the motor ( ), a condenser ( ), an expansion device ( ) and an evaporator ( ). These elements are interconnected in such a way as to form a refrigeration circuit for circulating a refrigerant from the compressor ( ) through the condenser ( ), the expansion device ( ) and the evaporator ( ) back to the compressor ( ). The electronic controller ( ) is arranged in such a way as to be in thermal exchange relationship with the refrigerant at a point of the refrigeration circuit situated between the compressor outlet ( ) and the condenser outlet ( ).

Cooling of electronics in an electrically driven refrigerant system

A sealed, electrically controlled compressor provides for two way optical data transmission to and from its sealed interior. An optical window, securely sealed through the compressor shell, and a pair of optical devices located to either side of the window, allow data transfer with no separate lines piercing the shell.
