A valve includes a valve housing and a piston. The housing has an end face with a first opening, a second opening with a closing edge, and a valve seat. The piston has a first surface pointing towards the end face, a first lateral surface, a control edge, and a second lateral surface. In a first switching mode, the first surface covers the first opening, the piston seals with the valve seat, the second opening is closed by the second lateral surface, and the control edge is between the closing edge and the valve seat. In a second switching mode, the second opening is closed by the second lateral surface and the control edge is between the closing edge and the valve seat. In the third switching mode, a section of the second opening is released to form a flow chamber permeably connecting the first opening and the second opening.

A valve device includes a valve socket with a valve seat having internal radius, a valve disposed in the valve socket, and a first flow channel. The valve includes a valve housing, an inlet opening, a flow opening, and a stop. The valve housing includes a first housing portion sitting in the valve seat, and a second housing portion adjoining the first housing portion. The inlet opening is formed opposite the first housing portion and the flow opening is formed on the second housing portion. The stop sits on the valve housing at the inlet opening and radially protrudes beyond the valve housing. The stop includes a radial stop dimension greater than the valve seat internal radius, the radial stop dimension being a smallest radial distance between the valve axis and an area of the stop farthest from the valve axis. The first flow channel leads to the inlet opening.

A valve includes a valve axis extending in an axial direction, a valve housing, a ring that surrounds the valve axis, a seal, a spring for exerting a spring force, and a piston arranged in the valve housing. The valve housing includes a first valve housing opening through which a flow medium can pass. The ring is secured to the first valve housing opening. The seal is held on the valve housing by the ring. The piston is coaxial to the valve housing on the valve axis and axially faces the first valve housing opening. The piston is axially movable in the valve housing against the spring force, and the first valve housing opening can be closed by the piston.

A valve includes a valve housing, a piston, a support element, and a spring. The piston and the valve housing are arranged coaxially to each other on an imaginary valve axis. The piston is received in the valve housing in an axially movable manner against the spring force of the spring. The spring is supported on the support element and on the piston. The valve housing is provided with a first opening through which a fluid can flow and which can be closed by a piston base of the piston. The valve housing is provided with a second opening which can be at least partly closed by a piston casing of the piston and through which the fluid can flow. The piston casing extends outwards from the piston base in the axial direction of the support element and surrounds the valve axis.

A method of producing a piston blank, comprising producing an intermediate blank of a piston for an axial piston machine by extrusion wherein the intermediate blank includes a shaft portion, a ball head portion, and a sealing portion, wherein the shaft portion connects the ball head portion to the sealing portion. The method also includes producing a piston blank of the piston from the intermediate blank and machining a through-opening in the intermediate blank, wherein the through-opening extends within the piston blank in the longitudinal direction.
