Some embodiments automatically and proactively adjust network device configuration settings during network operation, based on correlations between device performance and device configuration. Correlations are computed using statistics routines or computed by a machine learning module. Some embodiments share adjusted configuration values via a cache, and some persist adjusted values through an application restart. In some embodiments, the cache is hierarchical and different kinds of reconfiguration data are shared at different levels. In some embodiments, the configuration value is shared only between application instances that have sufficiently similar contexts. Some embodiments detect a correlation loss and fall back to a known good configuration setting or a default configuration setting. Some embodiments optimize network internode communications by making dynamic adjustments which are not available from static configuration settings or from static configuration rules.

There is provided a method comprising: transmitting, by a user terminal, to a state server a request for state change information of a service provided by the user terminal; receiving, by the user terminal, an indication of said state change information from the state server; and using, by the user terminal, said received indication to determine whether or not to suppress a polling relating to said service of a master server.

Communication system

A repository stores a contract between a service consumer and a service provider that provides a service, the contract specifying a service-level objective associated with a service to be applied for the service consumer. An enforcement device is configured according to the contract, where the configuring causes the enforcement device to perform enforcement of the service-level objective in a connection between the service consumer and the service provider, the connection allowing the service consumer to access the service in response to the enforcement device confirming that the service consumer is associated with the contract.

A test planning tool for defining a test plan for testing updates to a software product aggregates information from a variety of diverse sources to generate an application model. The application includes a detailed model of the components of the application and their dependencies, a logical structure of the components, requirements associated with changes to the components, organizational entities responsible for the changes, and various other information, such as test coverage and defect information. The application model is presented to the user in a manner that allows the user to select components of interest, drill down and view change details and requirements, and to use that information to develop a test plan.
