An emergency light unit (arranged in an elevator cage) of an elevator installation can be activated. A light sensor unit and a lighting unit are arranged in the elevator cage. The emergency light unit is activated by an elevator control unit in dependence on at least one light intensity value detected by the light sensor unit when the elevator cage door is closed and transmitted to the control unit.

Activation of an emergency light unit

An indicating device for an elevator installation includes an electroluminescent indicator and a sound-reproducing apparatus, wherein the sound-reproducing apparatus is glued to a rear side of the electroluminescent indicator. The electroluminescent indicator and the sound-reproducing apparatus are mounted on a frame that snaps into a housing to form a module that can be attached to a wall mount.

Indicating device

A multi-segment display for the representation of alphanumeric characters, formed by uniting several character-display elements having multiple segments. The united display segment elements have common vertical segments. Greater freedom for representing the characters while requiring the smallest possible number of segments is obtained by such a construction. In addition, gaps between character representation can be minimized or eliminated, allowing characters to be represented in a centered arrangement with a regular spacing.
