Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable media for cable analysis and monitoring systems. In one aspect, the method includes obtaining from a plurality of sensors sensor data that includes a plurality of sensor measurements associated with a cable. In one aspect, the method includes storing the sensor data in a database. Each respective sensor measurement of the plurality of sensor measurements is associated with a group identifier included in a set of group identifiers. In one aspect, the method includes retrieving for each selected type of one or more selected types of sensor measurements, a set of time series sensor measurements of the selected type. In one aspect, the method includes determining based on the sets of time series sensor measurements one or more warning events associated with the cable. In one aspect, the method includes automatically generating one or more remediation actions for remediating the warning event.

Internet of things (IoT) application for cable analysis

In one embodiment, the present invention is a braided filament including a plurality of strands each having at least one ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fiber and at least one polyester fiber wherein the quantity of certain types of fibers in a first strand is the same as the quantity of the same type of fibers in a second strand. In a variant, one additional strand of the braided filament is a monofilament strand. In another variant, each strand is homogeneous with respect to the other strands and is made exclusively from ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene fibers and polyester fibers such that each strand has the same distribution and quantity of fiber types.

A rope, a system and a method for measuring one or more properties of a rope. A property evaluation system for ropes can be deployed for a number of different applications including, but not limited to, moving lines, e.g., crane or winch and static lines, e.g., mooring lines, stays, etc., to evaluate physical properties of the ropes and, in some cases, to help evaluate structural health of the ropes. A sheave assembly () may transmit a signal into a rope () to measure at least one property of the rope. At least one sensor () may be coupled to or assembled in the rope to measure at least one property of the rope.

Apparatus and method for measuring properties of a rope

A system and method for performing structural health monitoring on a structural element while it remains in service and experiences normal loading. The energy input to the element will be the normal and random energy inputs the element sees in service. The inventive system places an intelligent module at one or more points along the length of the structural element. The inventive system collects mass data from multiple modules on multiple elements. The system then applies machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques to detect changes in the measurements received from one or more modules. This approach reduces or eliminates the need to provide calibrated input energy. The invention preferably provides the ability to determine the condition of one element or sub-element under measurement relative to other elements.

Structural health monitoring system and method

A tow kit is disclosed having a thimble slider engaged with a plurality of tethers. The thimble slider may have a generally C-shaped body with a back portion and opposing end portions. The thimble slider may also have a channel formed within outer surfaces of the back and opposing end portions, and an elongated separator connected to an inner surface of the back portion and extending in a direction generally orthogonal to the back portion to define two portions. A tether can engage the channel to equally distribute weight applied to the two ends of the tether. A sling can engage the inner surface of the back portion. At least one other tether can engage the sling.

The rope includes a plurality of primary strands, and each of the primary strands includes a plurality of fibers which may be made of a high-friction material. The transducer configured to output an ultrasonic wave in a transverse direction towards a longitudinal location of the rope, such that at least a portion of the ultrasonic wave passes around a perimeter of the rope, receive the portion of the ultrasonic wave, convert the portion of the ultrasonic wave to a signal, and output the signal. The processor configured to receive the signal, and evaluate the rope based on the signal.

A method of assembling an adjustable continuous filament assembly whereby a single length of filament is spliced to form a nonadjustable portion and a single free segment. The single free segment is introduced into the inner core of the nonadjustable portion at a first position. The single free segment is passed through at least a portion of the inner core of the nonadjustable portion. The single free segment is withdrawn from the nonadjustable portion at a second position, thereby forming an adjustable portion secured to the nonadjustable portion and adjustable by the single free segment.

Adjustable continuous filament structure and method of manufacture and use

A non-contact evaluation system for evaluating a synthetic rope. The system includes a first transducer, a second transducer, and a processor. The first transducer is located at a first position and configured to convert a first electrical signal into a wave directed toward the synthetic rope under test. The wave has characteristics such that at least of a portion of the wave passes around a perimeter of the synthetic rope. The second transducer is located at a second position opposite the first position and radially aligned with the first transducer. The second transducer is also configured to receive and convert the portion of the wave into a second electrical signal. The processor is configured to determine a structural health measure of the synthetic rope based on the second electrical signal.

A non-contact signal propagation property evaluation system for ropes can be deployed for a number of different applications including, but not limited to, moving lines, e.g., crane or winch and static lines, e.g., mooring lines, stays, etc., to evaluate physical properties of the ropes and, in some cases, to help evaluate structural health of the ropes. The system includes a first transducer for generating ultrasonic waves, a second transducer for receiving ultrasonic waves propagated transversely through and around the rope, and a processor executing computer readable code to determine acoustic propagation properties of the rope.
