A pump side part for use with a centrifugal slurry pump for pumping a fluid mixture containing particulate matter, the pump side part comprising a main body having a main axis, the main body including a side wall section which extends laterally with respect to the main axis and has opposite facing first and second sides, a plurality of formations on a surface of the second side including an inner formation and an outer formation in spaced relation to the inner formation, the formations being configured so that in use the formations generate a flow of the fluid mixture across the surface which detaches from the surface the particulate matter adjacent thereto.

A centrifugal slurry pump impeller including: a back shroud with opposed inner and outer faces and an outer peripheral edge, a central axis, a plurality of pumping vanes extending from the inner main face of the back shroud, the pumping vanes being disposed in spaced apart relation, each pumping vane including opposed main side faces, a leading edge in the region of the central axis and a trailing edge in the region of the outer peripheral edge of the back shroud with passageways between adjacent pumping vanes, wherein the inner main face of the back shroud along the length of the passageways, leading from the leading edge to the trailing edge, includes a generally planar inner region beginning adjacent the leading edge of the plurality of pumping vanes, and an outer region ending at the outer peripheral edge of the back shroud, wherein the outer region of the inner face of the back shroud includes a lip formation with an apex including a convex surface.

A distributor device for use with cyclone separator apparatus, the distributor device comprising, a main body having a distribution chamber therein, the main body including a back wall and a front wall which at least in part enclose the distribution chamber, the main body including a peripheral region between the front and back walls, the device comprising a plurality of delivery outlets arranged in spaced apart relation around the peripheral region the front wall having an inner face and a back wall having an inner face, the device further including a feed inlet to the distribution chamber in the front wall having a main axis extending in a direction between the front and back walls; the back wall having an inner face which includes main face section and a protrusion which extends from the main face section towards the inner face of the front wall.

Distributor device for cyclone separator apparatus

A slurry pump impeller which includes a front shroud and a back shroud each having an inner main face with an outer peripheral edge and a central axis, a plurality of pumping vanes extending between the inner main faces of the shrouds, the pumping vanes being disposed in spaced apart relation. Each pumping vane includes a leading edge in the region of the central axis and a trailing edge in the region of the outer peripheral edges of the shrouds with a passageway between adjacent pumping vanes. Each passageway has associated therewith a discharge guide vane, each discharge guide vane being disposed within a respective passageway and located closer to one or the other of the pumping vanes and projecting from the inner main face of at least one of the or each shrouds.

A centrifugal pump impeller includes front and back shrouds and a plurality of pumping vanes therebetween, each pumping vane having a leading edge in the region of an impeller inlet and a trailing edge, the front shroud has an arcuate inner face in the region of the impeller inlet, the arcuate inner face having a radius of curvature (R) in the range from 0.05 to 0.16 of the outer diameter of the impeller (D) The back shroud includes an inner main face and a nose having a curved profile with a nose apex in the region of the central axis which extends towards the front shroud, there being a curved transition region between the inner main face and the nose. Fis the radius of curvature of the transition region and the ratio F/Dis from 0.32 to 0.65. Other ratios of various dimensions of the impeller are also described.

Relating to centrifugal pump impellers

A pump casing for a centrifugal pump, which comprises an inlet opening, a discharge outlet, and a transition surface extending between an inner peripheral surface of the main pumping chamber and an inner peripheral surface of the discharge outlet, the transition surface arranged for separating an in use exit flow of material in the discharge outlet from an in use recirculation flow of material in the main pumping chamber. The transition surface has a cutwater having a profiled section which comprises a protrusion which extends irregularly from an otherwise generally rounded arched or U-shaped transition surface and is configured such that, in use, the velocity and/or turbulence resulting from the in use flow of the material being pumped in the main pumping chamber is reduced.
