A radio frequency identification (RFID) reader identifies in which room among several rooms the RFID reader is more likely to be located. The RFID reader includes a transmitter for transmitting an interrogating radio frequency (RF) signal. It includes a receiver for receiving RF signals generated in corresponding pairs of RFID tags. The RFID tag pairs are attached to corresponding regions of each of the rooms. Each of said RFID tag pair including a first RFID tag and a second RFID tag that are spaced from each other by a distance that is larger or equal to &#x3bb;/4 and smaller than or equal to &#x3bb;/2 with respect to a frequency of a responding RF signal originated in the pair of RFID tags. A processor selects a larger RSSI of the RSSI's of the signal pair. The processor determines a corresponding sum of the RSSI's selected from each signal pair associated with each room. The processor evaluates in accordance with determined sums, the location in which said RFID reader is more likely to be located.

The invention concerns a complex number multiplier receiving the binary number A, B, C and D complimentarily coded in pairs so as to perform the complex multiplication (A+jB)*(C+jD). A first processing stage enables to perform the operations A&#x2212;B, C&#x2212;D, and A+B whereof the results are binary numbers in base two with a redundant binary format, and a borrow-save coding for subtractions and carry-save coding for addition. A second processing stage converts said results into coded binary numbers in base four. A third processing stage enables to perform multiplication (A&#x2212;B)C, (C&#x2212;D)B and (A+B)D with a redundant binary format and a borrow-save coding. A last stage comprises two adders for working out the real part (A&#x2212;B)C+(C&#x2212;D)B and the imaginary part (A+B)D+(C&#x2212;D)B in a redundant binary format and a borrow-save coding.

The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus and device intended to temporally modulate a sequence of source images with a modulation image comprising at least one anti-copy pattern. According to the invention, it is proposed that the modulation image be generated on the basis of the source image to be modulated in such a way as to place the patterns at locations of the image that may hinder the person watching an illicit copy of the video sequence (filmed for example by a camcorder). The modulation image is for example an image of the secondary contours of the image. The patterns are therefore placed in the low-gradient zones of the source image.
