An RF receiver comprises a down-converting and sampling circuit () adapted to: receive an RF input signal (RF) having a signal band (BW) comprising a plurality of sub-bands (BW), each sub-band comprising a plurality (2K) of channels separated by frequency channel spaces (&#x394;f); and perform frequency transposition and sampling to generate a discrete time signal in which a selected one of the plurality of sub-bands is brought from an initial frequency band to a lower frequency band (IF&#xb1;K&#x394;f); and a discrete time filter () having a variable pass band, the central frequency (f) of the discrete time filter being controllable to select any one of the plurality (2K) of channels of the selected sub-band.

An RF signal reception device including: a transposition device of signals of frequency fto a first intermediate frequency IF&#x3c;f; a first bandpass filter centered on IF; a sampler at a frequency fs&#x3c;IF; a second discrete-time filter centered on a second intermediate frequency IF=&#x3b1;&#xb7;fs/M+fs/(M&#xb7;n); a decimation device of a factor M; an analog-digital convertor to operate at a frequency fs/M; where &#x3b1;, n and M are strictly positive real numbers chosen such that: &#x3b1;&#x3c;fs/(2&#xb7;BW&#xb7;M), and BW/2&#x3c;fs/M&#xb7;n), with BW: bandwidth of a channel of the received RF signals.
