A nozzle assembly for a fan unit includes an inner nozzle having a tapered outer diameter and a flow path radially inward from the tapered outer diameter with respect to a longitudinal axis of the nozzle assembly. The flow path is configured to guide a fluid flow and to expel the fluid flow through an inner outlet of the inner nozzle to a surrounding environment. The nozzle assembly also includes an outer nozzle disposed radially outward from the inner nozzle with respect to the longitudinal axis. The outer nozzle and the tapered outer diameter of the inner nozzle define an annular flow path therebetween. The annular flow path is configured to guide the fluid flow and to expel the fluid flow to the surrounding environment through an outer outlet of the outer nozzle. A cross-sectional area of the outer outlet is adjustable via movement of the inner nozzle, the outer nozzle, or both along the longitudinal axis of the nozzle assembly.

Nozzle assembly for exhaust fan unit of HVAC system

An exhaust fan unit of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system includes an outer fluid path of a nozzle assembly of the exhaust fan unit defined by and between an outer wall of the nozzle assembly and an inner wall of the nozzle assembly, an inner fluid path of the nozzle assembly defined by and radially inward from the inner wall, and a plurality of entrainment ports extending from the outer wall to the inner wall and configured to enable environmental air to pass to the inner fluid path, where each entrainment port includes a bottom surface that tapers downwardly from the inner wall to the outer wall.

A fan wheel includes a hub having a passage extending along an axis, where the passage is configured to receive a shaft. The hub includes a first mounting surface positioned at a first location along the axis and a second mounting surface offset from the first mounting surface and positioned at a second location along the axis. The fan wheel also includes a fan blade having a first mounting tab and a second mounting tab, where first mounting tab is configured to engage with and couple to the first mounting surface and the second mounting tab is configured to engage with and couple to the second mounting surface.

Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to an inline centrifugal mixed flow fan system that includes a wheel assembly disposed within an outer housing and comprising a hub cone, a plurality of fan blades directly coupled to and extending radially outward from the hub cone, and a shroud directly coupled to and at least partially radially surrounding the plurality of fan blades. The wheel assembly is configured to receive an air flow at an inlet axial end of the outer housing axially upstream of the wheel assembly, and to redirect the air flow axially downstream relative to a central longitudinal axis, circumferentially about the central longitudinal axis, and radially outward from the central longitudinal axis.
