A system and method of lifting and positioning patients uses a patient's center of gravity for leverage to enable a caregiver to readily move a patient with less effort. The system includes a device with a tension sheet and tension rollers located at opposite ends of the device. The tension rollers are configured to increase tension in the tension sheet, which creates leverage to assist positioning of the patient. The patient lifting and positioning system aims to reduce injury risk for both the caregiver and any patient being assisted to lay down and sit up. Further, the system and method uses leverage to assist a patient lay flat on an exam table or bed from the sitting position to the laying position, and back to the sitting position with less effort.

The self-locking cigar cutting tool is provided with a first retainer plate and a second retainer plate, wherein a cutting arm is pivotably mounted therein. An annular cutting aperture is formed into the first retainer plate and the second retainer plate, wherein the fixed blade is engaged into the annular cutting aperture opposite the cutting arm. The arcuate channel is formed into the cutting arm such that the detent element may operably engage between the cutting arm, and the first retainer plate and the second retainer plate. The detent element may be biased into a locked configuration, wherein the cutting arm will be captured in a closed configuration. The cutting arm may be biased into an open position, causing the cutting arm to extend when released from the detent element.

A method for optimizing production of a resource from an unconventional horizontal well comprises compiling values for predictor parameters and target parameters for each of a plurality of known wells. The method includes generating a model for anticipating production of the unconventional horizontal well. The method comprises using a production optimizer and the model to determine a physical parameter change for increasing the anticipated production from the unconventional horizontal well. The method includes communicating the physical parameter change to a rig. The method comprises causing the rig to make the physical parameter change to the unconventional horizontal well.

Systems and methods for optimizing production of unconventional horizontal wells

The invention is comprised of an assembly of hardware and software components for the purpose of measuring and drawing real life dimensions. With the present invention, an user defines a starting position in a spectrum of at least two coordinates. In a preferred embodiment all elements are integrated as one portable unit. The hardware elements comprise a point and click mechanism, whose operation is similar to a computer mouse, a display or viewing unit to act as a monitor, optional ways to input data, including but not limited to buttons and keys, and a way to power the device. The software element is generally defined by an application that allows tracing, drawing, measuring, calculating and saving data from real life physical areas by the interaction of the point-and-click mechanism, in optional combination with the ways to input data. The task is executed by the extrapolation of real life dimensions by successively selecting and clicking on defining points, resulting on a scaled down drawing recorded on the device and displayed on the viewing screen. Complex shape areas are calculated by segmenting them into regular geometrical shapes. Curvilinear and irregularly complex shapes are reticulated, so each reticle compartment's area is calculated and the entire shape area is calculated by the addition of all reticle's compartments for optimum precision and accuracy.

According to exemplary embodiments, a secure kiosk for receiving, transmitted, securing, and verifying data may be shown and described. For example, the kiosk may be fully automated. The kiosk may include a display, a tablet computer, a card reader, a printer, and a network link. For example, a kiosk may be provided and may be fully automated. The kiosk may accept data inputs in a variety of manners. The inputted data may then be transmitted, in real time, to a first server, where the information can be displayed and stored. Additionally, the information, at predetermined times, may be transmitted to a number of other servers which may receive, compare, and validate information. Further, a hierarchical data transmission system may be utilized such that, when information is verified or indicated as unverified at any of the other servers, instructions may be sent to at least the first server and the kiosk.

In general terms, two facing sections of the container have layers of an adhesive substance and a release substance, arranged in such a manner that when the two facing sections are in contact with one another, the adhesive substance layers face the release substance, preventing a permanent sealing of the container, and then, the positioning of another section of the container, free of any adhesive or release substance between the two facing sections, which causes the sealing of the container.

This invention relates to a novel fastening method with multiple applications, and different stationery products derived therefrom. The method offers practical and economical solution to different problems and needs associated with many different fastening functions. This method is particularly useful and advantageous in the paper, cardboard and film products industries. The method eliminates the need to moisten coatings of adhesive, or the need to use removable release liners to protect the adhesive coatings on the articles that need to be fastened. The method further enables the creation of new products, to solve existing needs, as for instance, self sealing and self contained forms suitable for desktop and any other type of printers. In very broad terms, the method consists of applying layers of a fastener, such as a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) substance and layers of a fastening inhibitor substance, such as a release substance to the surfaces on planes and that need to be fastened, in such a manner that they can be in direct contact and remain unattached or be temporarily attached until a more permanent attachment is desired, which is usually achieved by positioning another surface, or surfaces free of any layers on plane between them. Features of this method can be discretionarily expanded by the use of additional layers of adhesive or other fastener with different properties, as for example, lower strength pressure sensitive adhesive layers , that can be repositionable.

A biasingly extendable retaining member elastically holds the bridge from substantial movement while enhancing adaptability of the device to a very broad range of eyeglass sizes and shapes. A support member which receives the bridge of the eyeglasses preferably includes a length of deformable wire or the like molded within, and extending at least part way through, the upright member and the support member which allows the support member to be repositioned for better eyeglass stem support and retention.
