The present invention relates to the field of skin rejuvenation. Specifically, the present invention provides compositions and methods for promoting skin rejuvenation using a toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist and retinoic acid or derivatives thereof. In a specific embodiment, a method for treating wrinkles in a subject comprises the steps of (a) administering to the area of the subject comprising a wrinkle a composition comprising an effective amount of retinoic acid or a derivative thereof; and administering to the area of the subject comprising a wrinkle a composition comprising an effective amount of a TLR3 agonist.

Compositions and methods for skin rejuvenation

This invention provides methods of treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA), acne, rosacea, prostate cancer, and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), comprising the step of contacting a subject with a compound or composition capable of decreasing prostaglandin D2 (PGD2) level or activity, a downstream signaling or receptor pathway thereof, or prostaglandin D2 synthase level or activity; methods of stimulating hair growth, comprising the step of contacting a subject with a compound or composition capable of increasing or decreasing the activity or level of a target gene of the present invention, or with a protein product of the target gene or an analogue or mimetic thereof; and methods of testing for AGA and evaluating therapeutic methods thereof, comprising measuring PGD2 levels.

Methods and compositions for inhibiting or reducing hair loss, acne, rosacea, prostate cancer, and BPH

A topical composition includes a nanoemulsion of a plurality of hydrophobic particles having a hydrophilic coating therein. The hydrophobic particles are derived from the same or different hydrophobic material and each hydrophobic particle has a melting point below the melting point of the respective hydrophobic material. The hydrophobic particles comprise a mean particle size of less than about 10 nm, and the nanoemulsion further includes one or more pharmaceutically active agents.

Topical compositions and methods of detection and treatment

The present invention relates to the field of wound healing. Specifically, the present invention provides compositions and methods for promoting skin regeneration, more specifically, the generation of de novo hair follicles. In one embodiment, a method for stimulating hair follicle neogenesis in a subject comprises the step of administering to the subject an effective amount of a TLR3 agonist. In certain embodiments, the TLR3 agonist is a double stranded RNA (dsRNA). The present invention is also directed to treating common male pattern hair loss.

A method of detecting a skin condition may include employing a multiband hyperspectral sensor to obtain multi-spectral data, employing the multi-spectral data to map constitutive skin parameters to corresponding spectral signatures via a forward model that enables generation of a set of samples including a plurality of parameters mapped to a plurality of spectral signatures, utilizing the set of samples to employ machine learning to generate an inverse model to enable mapping of a spectral signature of skin of a patient to corresponding skin parameters, estimating constitutive skin parameters of the skin of the patient based on the inverse model, and determining a distribution of the constitutive parameters for one or more skin locations.
