Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes performing a mobility procedure to establish a connection in a target radio access technology (RAT) while maintaining a context established in a source RAT, wherein one of the source RAT or target RAT is a terrestrial network (TN) RAT and the other is a non-terrestrial network (NTN) RAT and sending a tracking area update (TAU) request after establishing the connection in the target RAT.

Handover between terrestrial network and nonterrestrial network

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication that a cell associated with the base station does not support reduced capability UEs, wherein the UE is capable of operating in a first mode that is associated with reduced capability UEs and a second mode that is not associated with reduced capability UEs. The UE may communicate, in the second mode, with the base station to establish a connection with the cell based at least in part on at least one of: the UE supporting one or more capabilities associated with connecting with the cell, or no cells that support reduced capability UEs being available. Reduced capability user equipment operations

Aspects present herein relate to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE. The apparatus may transmit, to at least one of a network node or a network entity, an indication of one or more future network slices, an indication of one or more current network slices, and/or an indication of one or more past network slices, the future network slices corresponding to network slices for potential future use by the UE, the current network slices corresponding to network slices that are currently used by the UE, the past network slices corresponding to network slices that were previously used by the UE. The apparatus may also receive, from the network entity, a response to the indication of the one or more future network slices, the indication of the one or more current network slices, and/or the indication of the one or more past network slices.

UE assistance information for slices

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. Flexible time division duplexing configuration

Example implementations include a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium of wireless communication for a network node to transport signaling used to coordinate management of a RAN for local traffic between a first node and a UE across a wireless connection. The network node may establish a first wireless signaling connection between a first node and a second node. The network node may encapsulate or decapsulate traffic associated with a second wireless signaling connection within the first wireless signaling connection. The second wireless signaling connection corresponds to a non-F1 interface of a control plane or user plane network function that terminates at the first node. For instance, the network node may be a consumer premises equipment (CPE) serving a UE, a base station wirelessly serving the CPE, or a core network node providing control for the UE.

Signaling to support RAN management for local traffic

This disclosure provides systems, methods, apparatus, and computer programs encoded on a computer storage media for providing user equipment mobility history information to a remote computing platform. In one aspect, a user equipment may store user equipment mobility history information in memory within the user equipment. The user equipment may determine whether a radio access network connection state has changed from a primary cell in a radio resource controller state to another cell outside a radio access network, to an inter-radio access technology cell, or to an out of service. The user equipment may transmit the user equipment mobility history information to the remote computing platform in response to determining that the user equipment radio access network connection state has changed from a primary cell in a radio resource controller state to another cell outside a radio access network, an inter-radio access technology cell, or an out of service state.

User equipment (UE) mobility history information management

Techniques are described to support call routing and location for a user equipment (UE) with satellite wireless access to a serving PLMN. The UE sends a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) INVITE message to a network node, such as a P-CSCF, that includes an indication of satellite access for the UE. In response the network node sends a request to another network node for a cell ID for a fixed cell in which the UE is located. The fixed cell can be independent of satellite radio cells for the serving PLMN. The network node may receive the cell ID for the fixed cell and sends the SIP INVITE message to another network node (e.g., an E-CSCF or LRF) with the cell ID for the fixed cell. The other network node may use the cell ID to route the SIP INVITE message or obtain an approximate location of the UE.

Systems and techniques to support cell identification for satellite wireless access

The present disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for maintaining continuity of a buffer status report (BSR) from a user equipment (UE) when the UE is handed over between base stations. In one aspect, a base station or a component thereof may be configured to allocate a set of resources for transmission by a UE. The set of resources may have a capacity that is insufficient for an amount of data indicated by a BSR from the UE. The base station or component thereof may be further configured to transmit, to another base station in association with handover of the UE, an indication that the capacity of the set of resources is insufficient for the amount of the data indicated by the BSR.

Continuity for buffer status reports

A UE may include IoT NTN device, and the UE may acquire the GNSS location to perform the time/frequency pre-compensation. A NAS layer of the UE may initiate a connection request procedure based on the GNSS fix procedure at one or more lower layer of the UE. A network may transmit a paging request to the UE, and manage a paging response timer based on the GNSS fix procedure at the UE.

Location acquisition delay management

A method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node. The IAB node receives one or more delay parameters from an IAB donor and determines an access PDB over an air link between the IAB node and a child node or a UE based in part on the one or more delay parameters received from the IAB donor.

Delay bounds in integrated access and backhaul network

Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication using satellite access to a wireless network, where a wireless cell supported by a satellite is moving or temporarily fixed. In an aspect, a radio access network (RAN) entity or a user equipment (UE) provides, to a core network entity, an enhanced cell global identifier (CGI), where the enhanced CGI includes at least one field representing a location of the UE. Based on the enhanced CGI, the core network entity determines a location of the UE, and may provide a service to the UE based on the location. A core network may also provide an enhanced CGI to a RAN, e.g., to support wireless emergency alerting to UEs.

Support of fixed cells for user equipment access to a non-terrestrial network

Aspects relate to measurement and event reporting from a distributed unit (DU) of a disaggregated base station to a central unit (CU) of the disaggregated base station. The CU can configure the DU with a measurement configuration associated with at least one value to be obtained by the DU and a reporting configuration for reporting the at least one value to the CU. The measurement reports can be sent by DU periodically or the measurement reports can be event-triggered based on the reporting configuration. In addition, the measurement reports can be UE-specific or DU/cell-specific. The measurement reports may include random access channel (RACH) reports, uplink measurement reports, radio link protocol (RLC) reports, medium access control (MAC) protocol reports, and other types of measurement or event-based reports.

Distributed unit (DU) measurement and event reporting in disaggregated base station

Aspects present herein relate to methods and devices for wireless communication including an apparatus, e.g., a UE and/or a base station. The apparatus may receive, from a base station, a logged measurement configuration including a PLMN ID and a NID, the logged measurement configuration further including at least one of a trace reference, a logging area, a MDT PLMN list, or a MDT NPN list. The apparatus may also store the PLMN ID and the NID based on the received logged measurement configuration. Additionally, the apparatus may compare the PLMN ID and the NID to an MDT SNPN list to identify if the PLMN ID and the NID are included in the MDT SNPN list. The apparatus may also transmit, to the base station, an availability indicator if the PLMN ID and the NID are included in the MDT SNPN list.

Data collection for non-public networks

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may select at least one target node for a radio resource control connection, wherein the user equipment is in a particular radio resource control communication state when the at least one target node is selected, and wherein the user equipment is configured to communicate using dual-connectivity, wherein context information associated with the user equipment is stored by the user equipment, a master node associated with the user equipment, and a secondary node associated with the user equipment based at least in part on the user equipment being in the particular radio resource control communication state; and/or transmit information to the at least one target node or the master node to cause the context information to be provided to the at least one target node. Techniques and apparatuses for user equipment mobility in multi-connectivity mode

An integrated access and backhaul (IAB) donor central unit (CU) may transmit, to an IAB-node, a plurality of messages for a child of the IAB-node, the plurality of messages including a first message being associated with a first condition, and a second message being associated with a second condition, and transmit an indication instructing the IAB to forward, to the child, the first message if a first condition is met or the second message if a second condition is met. The IAB-node may receive, from the IAB-donor-CU, the indication, determine that one condition among the first condition and the second condition has occurred, forward one of the first message or the second message to the child based on the occurrence of the one condition, and discard the other of the first message or the second message.
