This disclosure relates to a motor vehicle with an arrangement configured to oppose movement of a vehicle door, and a corresponding method. An example motor vehicle includes a body, a door configured to slide relative to the body between an open position and a closed position, and a bracket connected to the door. The bracket includes a slot. Further, a locking arm is mounted to the body, and, when the door is in the closed position, the locking arm is configured to move such that the locking arm is received in the slot.

Arrangement configured to oppose movement of vehicle door

An assembly includes a seat bottom having a rear and a pair of sides extending in a seat-forward direction from the rear. The assembly includes a seatback rotatably supported by the seat bottom. The assembly includes an active actuator operatively connected to the seatback to rotate the seatback about a vertical axis toward one of the sides of the seat bottom.

Vehicle seat assembly

An assembly includes a track and a base movable along the track. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the base. The assembly includes a pyrotechnic device designed to move the base along the track.

Vehicle airbag

An airbag includes a main panel defining an inflation chamber and being inflatable to an inflated position. The airbag includes an extension extending from the main panel and defining an extension chamber. The airbag includes a side panel spaced from the main panel in the inflated position and fixed to the extension. The side panel is external to the extension chamber. The side panel, the extension, and the main panel define a cavity external to the extension chamber.

Airbag assembly

An assembly includes a base having a pinion. The assembly includes an airbag supported by the base. The assembly includes a rack configured to engage the pinion. The assembly includes a pyrotechnic device configured to move the rack relative to the base and cause the rack to engage the pinion and rotate the base upon actuation of the pyrotechnic device.

Rotatably supported airbag

A restraint system includes a side air curtain, a sail panel, and a secondary cushion. The side air curtain is inflatable to an inflated position and has a top edge, a bottom edge, and a forward edge extending from the top edge to the bottom edge. The sail panel extends from the forward edge. The secondary cushion is inflatable to an inflated position and is elongated in a direction away from the bottom edge and the forward edge toward the top edge.

Restraint system

A side curtain airbag that has a rear chamber, a front chamber and a secondary chamber affixed to said front chamber. The side curtain air bag has tear stitching and permanent stitching connecting the secondary chamber to an inboard panel of the air curtain such that, in a deployed state, the secondary chamber occupies a gap between a driver airbag and the curtain airbag.

A first airbag has a first joining panel. A second airbag has a second joining panel. The first and second airbags are both inflatable from an uninflated position to an inflated position. The first and second joining panels are spaced from each other in the uninflated position. In the inflated position, the first joining panel is fixed to the second joining panel.
