A system for neutralizing embers is disclosed. The system includes a laser turret with a sensor array and a laser emitter configured to dispense laser energy. The laser turret can also include a control system configured to move the laser emitter. The laser control system can receive information from the sensor array and sending signals to the control system to move the laser emitter. Using these features, the laser control system can select an incoming ember based on a thermal signature associated with the incoming ember, and the laser control system can issue commands to the control system to direct the laser emitter towards the incoming ember, and the laser emitter can direct laser energy at the incoming ember. The system can also include provisions to track an ember and determine if an ember has been depleted of fuel.

A multi-factor authentication technique can use multiple smart devices to determine whether a person is authenticated by minimizing the extent to which the person is expected to interact with his or her smart devices. In an example multi-factor authentication method comprises performing a first determination, that a first mobile device is located within a wireless range of a device, obtaining a unique identifier from the first mobile device, sending, to a server, the unique identifier, receiving, from the server, information that indicates a first authentication technique and a second authentication technique, performing a second determination that the person is authenticated by successfully performing the first authentication technique with the first mobile device and by successfully performing the second authentication technique with the second mobile device, and performing a final authentication operation in response to performing the second determination.

Multi-factor authentication

A method includes receiving, with one or more processors, biometric information of a first user. The method also includes determining, with the one or more processors, whether there is an indication that the first user is distracted based on the biometric information. The method further includes receiving, with the one or more processors, vehicle speed information. The method also includes determining, with the one or more processors, whether there is an indication that the first user is driving based on the vehicle speed information. The method further includes in response to determining that the first user is distracted and that the first user is driving, instructing, with the one or more processors, a mobile device associated with the first user to contact a second user or a call center.

Electronic safety shutoff with dual redundancy is provided for use in combination with an electronic device to prevent fire, explosion, electrocution or shock. In one embodiment, four sensors, including two smoke sensors and two temperature sensors provide input to the logic gate circuit. The logic gate circuit determines the output signal to maintain power or interrupt power. Any combination of two or more sensors triggering will activate a power interrupting signal by the logic gate circuit, thereby activating an emergency power shutoff.
