Embodiments of the present disclosure include a method for controlling a power generation system, the method including: detecting a heat distribution across a component of a power generation system from a thermal output of the component, during operation of the power generation system; calculating a projected heat distribution across the component based on a library of modeling data for the power generation system; calculating whether a difference between the heat distribution and the projected heat distribution exceeds a thermal threshold; adjusting the power generation system in response to the difference exceeding the predetermined threshold, wherein the adjusting includes modifying an operating setting of the power generation system.

A hose connection system for connecting a hose to a gas turbine engine. The hose connection system may include a connection fitting and a connection tool. The connection fitting may include a first member to be attached to the gas turbine engine, a mating component to be attached to the hose, and a splined second member to be torqued onto the first member. The connection tool may include a drive wheel with a number of drive wheel splines such that the drive wheel splines torque the splined second member onto the first member.

Leak-detection systems for detecting fluid leaks in component(s) included in an apparatus are disclosed. The leak-detection systems may include an inspection vehicle for inspecting the component(s) of the apparatus. The inspection vehicle may include at least one camera positioned on a housing, and a fluid-detection tool coupled to the housing. The fluid-detection tool may detect fluids leaking from the component(s) of the apparatus. The leak-detection system may also include a leak-detection device in electronic communication with the fluid-detection tool of the inspection vehicle. The leak-detection device may be configured to identify a specific component of the apparatus leaking a fluid using fluid detection data generated by the fluid-detection tool of the inspection vehicle, and predetermined component data relating to each component of the apparatus. The leak-detection device may also be configured to provide a notification including component-leak information relating to the specific component of the apparatus leaking the fluid.

Leak-detection systems including inspection vehicles and leak-detection devices

Embodiments of the disclosure can relate to bearing health monitoring in power plants. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method for bearing health monitoring in power plants can include receiving operational data associated with a power plant component. The method may further include receiving training data from one or more power plants. The method may further include determining a signature associated with an anomaly event of the power plant component, based at least in part on the operational data and the training data. The anomaly event of the power plant component may include a wiping of a bearing or a scoring of a bearing. The method can further include generating (1) an alert indicative of the anomaly event or (2) an alert to modify an inspection interval for the power plant component, based at least in part on a comparison of the signature with a threshold signature. The method can further include generating a repair or inspection recommendation for the power plant component, based at least in part on the comparison.
