Battery systems and associated methods are described herein. A representative battery system includes: a plurality of individual battery units that each include a battery cell enclosed in a housing with a sensor therein configured to sense a physical characteristic of the battery cell; and a controller configured to connect/disconnect each battery cell according to its physical status to/from a device/system monitoring the battery system, such as an overarching vehicle control system. A battery system may comprising an energy storage cell; a cell container surrounding the energy storage cell and comprising at least one power output terminal and a test port; an external housing defining an enclosure configured to encompass the cell container; a conduit attached to the test port of the cell container and accessible through the external housing; and a valve positioned within the conduit and controlling fluidic flow through the conduit.

The disclosed technology relates to antenna configurations for wireless power transmission and supplemental visual signals. In some implementations, the disclosed technology includes a wireless power transmitter with boards that have multiple antennas physically coupled to the board. In some implementations, the antennas boards are arranged in a polygonal configuration (e.g., star shape). Additionally, in some implementations, the antennas can have different polarization configurations.

Various embodiments of the present technology generally relate to wireless power transmitter and antenna configurations for transmitting wireless power to one or more clients. In some embodiments, the wireless power transmitter includes boards having multiple antennas (i.e., an Antenna Matrix Board(s) (AMB)). The antennas can be on one side of each AMB board, while the control and power circuitry are on the reverse side. The antennas emit electromagnetic (EM) radiant energy that the client(s) receive, store, and/or use for communication with the charger or for the client device battery charging process. The antenna boards can be arranged in a configuration to increase (e.g., optimize) the amount of power transmitted to client(s). In various embodiments, the boards are arranged in polygonal shape as individual flat panels physically coupled to a support structure and attached to the CCB by plug in multiple pin connectors unique in mechanical design.

A severe braking warning system for a vehicle is described wherein the system is designed to measure a vehicle's rate of motion and, upon deceleration of the vehicle, affect the vehicle's brake light circuit by switching it on and off at a pulse rate proportional to the severity of deceleration. The system comprises an accelerometer, a microprocessor (either an integrated unit or the vehicle's existing unit), transistor, and a switch in communication with the vehicle's existing brake light circuit. The inventive brake light warning system provides a supplemental indication to other vehicles traveling behind of the rate of braking, thereby reducing the possibility of rear-end collisions.
