A Two-way valve for regulating and measuring the flow rate of a fluid through a header (1) and a branched duct (2,2a) inside the header itself. The valve (10a, 10, 11, 11c) which shuts off the aperture (2b) of the branched duct (2) is internally hollow and movable axially by an associated actuator (13). Discs (30, 130) for detecting the pressure exerted by the flow of the fluid are integral with elements (20, 40) movable axially against the opposing action of a spring (60, 160) and form part of an instrument (70, 170) for measuring the flow rate. The valve comprises a head (10a), on the side surface of which recesses (10d) are formed.

A conformable marking tape having improved mechanical properties comprises a support base and a top-coat layer, the support base comprising a highly saturated acrylonitrile elastomer grafted with a zinc salt of methacrylic acid. The top-coat layer preferably comprises a polyurethane resin having about 50 to about 65% by weight of rigid segments and about 35 to about 50% by weight of flexible segments. The rigid segments are derived from diisocyanates and aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic chain extenders, and the flexible segments are derived from polymeric compounds having at least two active hydrogen atoms and having weight average molecular weights ranging from about 400 to about 4000.

A power driven valve actuator includes a thermostatic device which is movably supported in a housing to accommodate overtravel of a thrust member against the stem of the valve resulting from excess expansion of a thermostatic element enclosed in the thermostatic device and heated by a heating device. Movement of the thermostatic device trips a dust-tight switch to interrupt power to the heating device, and a spring engaging the thermostatic device returns the thermostatic device to a starting position, so that whenever heat is called for by the thermostat, the thermostatic device cycles in a reciprocating motion within the housing after the valve has been fully opened. The heating device comprises an electric resistance heating element placed in contact with a thermal enclosure of the thermostatic element and covered by an insulating material.

The described method and apparatus are relative to the indirect measurement of thermal energy delivered to numerous heating elements, part of one or several zones, for instance all the radiators in an apartment or all the radiant panels of single family quarters. The apparatus consists of a temperature sensor which outputs an electric signal depending upon the temperature of the carrying fluid in which it is immersed and corrected as a function of the type of heating unit used (radiators, fan-coils, radiant panels, convectors, etc.) since each system has a different thermal emission for an equal temperature of the fluid, an electronic circuit for processing the signal, valving devices for interception of the heat carrying fluid, and a counter device sensitive to the processed temperature signal, which device is sensitive to the added energy supplied, in a given time period to the various controlled rooms, each room having attributed to it its own thermal capacity by means of a programmable scaling circuit, when the interception valving devices for the heat carrying fluid let this fluid through.
