A method for producing a multi-layer body, in particular a security element, in which a partial first layer or partial first layer system is produced on a substrate, wherein the partial first layer or partial first layer system is present in a first partial area and not in a second partial area. Subsequently, a partial second layer or partial second layer system is produced, wherein the partial second layer or partial second layer system is present in a third partial area and not in a fourth partial area, and wherein the third partial area overlaps with the first and second partial areas. The invention relates to a method for producing a multilayer body (), as well as a multilayer body () produced thereby. A single- or multi-layered first decorative ply () is applied to a carrier ply with a first () and a second () side. A metal layer () is applied to the side of the first decorative ply () facing away from the carrier ply and structured such that the metal layer () is provided with a first layer thickness in one or more first zones () and is provided with a second layer thickness different from the first layer thickness in one or more second zones (), wherein in particular the second layer thickness is equal to zero. A single- or multi-layered second decorative ply () is applied to the side of the metal layer () facing away from the first decorative ply () and structured using the metal layer () as mask such that the first () or second () decorative ply is at least partially removed in the first () or second () zones.

In a process for producing a multilayer body, an HRI layer made of a material having a high refractive index is applied to at least part of the surface area of a substrate. At least one partial region of the HRI layer is then physically removed from the substrate again by treatment with an alkaline solution. Additionally specified is a multilayer body that can be obtained by such a process.

A film and a process for its production includes a light-permeable replication lacquer layer with a diffractive relief structure formed in a first side of the replication lacquer layer, a light-permeable color lacquer layer, formed only in areas, arranged on the relief structure, and a reflective layer, formed at least in areas, arranged on the first side of the replication lacquer layer. In areas of the film where the color lacquer layer and the reflective layer overlap, the color lacquer layer is arranged between the replication lacquer layer and the reflective layer.
