Disclosed is a method for providing control data for an additive manufacturing device. The method includes accessing computer-based model data of a section of the object to be manufactured, defining a first portion and an adjoining second portion within the object section, and producing a data model of a region of a layer of the object section. Within the region a first portion cross-section cuts through the first portion and a second portion cross-section cuts through the second portion. An energy input parameter in the data model has, on average, a different value in the first portion cross-section than in the second portion cross-section and the energy beam is moved over the boundary of the first and second portion. Control data corresponding to the data model is provided for the generation of a control data set for the additive manufacturing device.

A method for providing control data for a generative layer construction device includes accessing layer data records that have data models of buildup material layers to be selectively solidified, where a base surface region of an object cross section exists in at least one layer data record, where in at least one of p layers below the base surface region, no solidification of buildup material is specified. The method further includes changing the layer data record such that a temporal sequence for scanning the associated object cross section with energy radiation is specified such that at least one portion of the base surface region is scanned before all other parts of the object cross section; and a third step, where the changed layer data record is provided for the generation of a control data record for the device.

Increase in surface quality

A method for providing control data for manufacturing at least one three-dimensional object by means of a layer-wise solidification of a building material in an additive manufacturing apparatus is provided. The method includes at least the following steps: a) determining the locations corresponding to the cross section of the at least one object, b) determining at least two different regions to be solidified in said at least one layer, wherein said at least two regions are chosen from the group of: sandwiched region, down-facing region and up-facing region, c) defining a scanning sequence for the beam so as to solidify the building material at least at the locations corresponding to said portion of the cross section of the object, wherein at an interface between a first and a second region differing from each other a scan line of the beam is continuous and at least one beam parameter value is changed.

Continuous exposure

A method for providing control data for a generative layer construction device has a first step of accessing a data record which, at least for a partial region of an object cross section, specifies in which temporal sequence an energy beam bundle is to be moved in scanning lines over the places of this partial region to scan the buildup material. In a second step, the data record is changed such that in at least one of the layers for the respective partial region of an object cross-section, a check is carried out to determine whether the scan time required to scan the buildup material along a scanning line falls below a predefined minimum duration tmin and either a lower energy density of the energy beam bundle during scanning of the buildup material along this scanning line is specified and/or a wait time is specified before the energy beam bundle is moved along a further scanning line.

Homogenization of the energy input

A method for providing control commands for producing a number of three-dimensional objects by an additive layer-wise building device. The invention relates to a method for layered production of a three-dimensional object, wherein a powdery or fluid building material, which can be solidified by the effects of electromagnetic or particle radiation, is applied in layers having a layer thickness d, and the locations in each layer which correspond to a cross-section of the object allocated to said layer are solidified by means of electromagnetic or particle radiation. According to the invention, each cross-section consists of a contour region and an inner region and the method comprises the following sub-step: in a sequence of N successive cross-sections, wherein N is a whole number greater than 1, a partial region is defined in every cross-section as a critical region and the rest of the cross-section is defined as a non-critical region, a number of N layers are applied successively, without solidification of the non-critical regions. The non-critical regions of all N layers are not solidified in all N layers until after application of the Nth layer.

Method for producing a three-dimensional object

In a method of providing a material amount for a generative manufacturing method, a three-dimensional object () is formed by selectively solidifying layers of a material at locations corresponding to the cross-section of the object () in the respective layers. The quality of the manufactured objects is reproducibly recorded, thus, improving the method. At least one first material amount of a powder is provided, which is characterized by at least one feature. Data is detected, which relates to the at least one feature of the first material. Then, the data is stored, which relates to the at least one feature of the first material. Thus, the method can provide an identifiable powder amount used in manufacturing each layer of the object.
