Polythiophene xerographic component coatings

A xerographic component including an intermediate transfer, fusing and/or biasing component, wherein one or more of each component may have a substrate and thereover a polymer coating with a thiophene filler dispersed or contained therein, and also an image forming apparatus for forming images on a recording medium having a charge-retentive surface to receive an electrostatic latent image thereon; a biasable component capable of receiving an electrical bias for charging one of a xerographic component or copy substrate surface; a development component to apply toner to the charge-retentive surface to develop the electrostatic latent image to form a developed image on the charge retentive surface; a transfer component to transfer the developed image from the charge retentive surface to a copy substrate; and a fuser component for fusing the developed image to a surface of the copy substrate, wherein at least one of the biasable component, transfer component and the fuser component have a) a substrate; and thereon b) a coating having a thiophene filler dispersed therein and an image forming apparatus including such xerographic component including an intermediate transfer, fusing and/or biasing component, and including a charge retentive surface, a biasable component, a development component, a transfer component, and a fuser component.

Polythiophene filled xerographic component coatings

A polyimide film component useful as fusing films and having electrically conductive doped metal oxide fillers dispersed therein, the fusing film having a surface resistivity of from about 10,to about 10,ohm/sq, and optionally provided on the polyimide film a conformable layer, or optionally in the following order, both a conformable intermediate layer and an outer release layer are provided on the polyimide film.

Polyimide and doped metal oxide fuser components

A film component having a) a haloelastomer with halogenated monomers, polyorganosiloxane monomers, or both halogenated and polyorganosiloxane monomers, and b) a doped metal oxide, preferably antimony doped tin oxide, dispersed therein, wherein the film component is useful as components in xerographic processes.

A polyurethane transfer component useful in intermediate transfer, bias transfer, and transfix applications, the polyurethane film having electrically conductive doped metal oxide fillers, the polyurethane film having a surface resistivity of from about 10.sup.4 to about 10.sup.16 ohm/sq, and optionally the polyurethane film is provided on a substrate, and optionally, an outer release layer is provided on the polyurethane layer.

Polyurethane and doped metal oxide transfer components

A seamed belt composed of: (a) a belt material including a polyimide and having two ends, each end having a plurality of mating elements, the two ends being joined to form a seam having the mating elements of the two ends in an interlocking relationship where the interlocked mating elements define a space between the interlocked mating elements; and (b) an adhesive present in the space between the interlocked mating elements, wherein the adhesive is selected from the group consisting of: (i) a polyvinyl butyral composition including: a terpolymer of polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyvinyl acetate, and a plasticizer; (ii) a polyurethane composition including a polyester polyurethane polymer; and (iii) a blended composition including an acrylonitrile and butadiene copolymer and a phenol formaldehyde polymer.

Polyimide seamed belt

A polyimide film component useful in intermediate transfer, bias transfer, and transfix applications, the polyimide film having electrically conductive doped metal oxide fillers dispersed therein, the polyimide film having a surface resistivity of from about 10.sup.6 to about 10.sup.14 ohm/sq, and optionally provided on the polyimide film an outer layer, or in the following order both a conformable intermediate layer and an outer release layer.

Polyimide and doped metal oxide intermediate transfer components

A composition having a) a haloelastomer with halogenated monomers, polyorganosiloxane monomers, or both halogenated and polyorganosiloxane monomers, and b) a doped metal oxide, preferably antimony doped tin oxide, dispersed or contained therein, wherein the composition can be formed into films or outer layers of components useful in xerographic processes.

Haleoelastomer and doped metal oxide compositions

There is disclosed a belt assembly including: (a) an endless belt capable of repeated cycling over rollers having a first side edge and a second side edge and defining a center region between two side regions, wherein a low friction composition comprised of a fluoropolymer covers a portion of the length of the first side edge; and (b) a belt guide apparatus which contacts the first side edge during cycling of the belt to position the belt on the rollers, wherein the low friction composition reduces the wear of the belt at the first side edge.

Belt assembly

An endless flexible seamed belt formed by joining two ends of material from which the belt is fabricated each end of which has a plurality of mutually mating elements in a puzzle cut pattern which are in interlocking relationship to prevent separation of the ends and which form a seam when joined mechanically to enable the flexible belt to essentially function as an endless belt having a substantially uniform thickness, said seam having voids between mutually mating elements at least partially filled with a seam strength enhancing material which is chemically and physically compatible with the material from which the belt is fabricated and which substance applied as a strip or on a strip over the seam and is bound to said belt material, said bond having been formed by the application of heat and/or pressure to a strip of said compatible placed material on at least one side of the seam at least substantially covering the seam. The strip may include a substrate with a coating of the compatible material which is removed after the bond is formed.

Puzzle cut seamed belt with strength enhancing strip

A polyurethane elastomer obtained by the reaction of a polytetramethylene ether glycol having the formula HO[(CH.sub.2).sub.4 O].sub.n H where n is from 10 to 60, preferably 55 to 60, and from about 20 to about 95 parts preferably 22 to 26 parts, by weight per 100 parts by weight of said glycol of a diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of diphenylmethane diisocyanates, toluene diisocyanates, naphthalene diisocyanates and blends thereof and a sufficient amount of cross linking agents to provide a crosslinked elastomer, said cross linking agents comprising a mixture of from about 75% to 60% by weight of a diol having the formula HO(R.sub.1) OH where R.sub.1 is a straight or branched chain alkyl group having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms and from about 25% to 40% by weight of a triol having the formula R'--C--[(OH).sub.a (CH.sub.2 OH).sub.b ] where R' is H, CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5, a is 0 or 1, b is 2 or 3 and a+b=3.

High wear resistance low compression set polyurethane

An endless flexible seamed belt with a mechanically invisible seam and substantially equivalent in performance to a seamless belt is formed by joining two ends of material from which the belt is fabricated each end of which has a plurality of mutually mating elements in a puzzle cut pattern which are in interlocking relationship in at least one plane and which when joined mechanically enable the flexible belt to essentially function as an endless belt having a substantially uniform thickness.

Endless puzzle cut seamed belt

An endless flexible seamed belt formed by joining two ends of material from which the belt is fabricated each end of which has a plurality of mutually mating elements in a puzzle cut pattern the opposite surfaces of which are in interlocking relationship to prevent separation of the ends and which form a seam when joined mechanically to enable the seamed flexible belt to essentially function as an endless belt having a substantially uniform thickness, said seam having voids between the surfaces of mutually mating elements, the opposite surfaces of the puzzle cut pattern being bound by an adhesive which has been cured by exposure to ultraviolet radiation and joined together to enable the seamed flexible belt to essentially function as an endless belt.

A sheet registration device including a hub having an axis of rotation and a plurality of resilient plastic blades arranged in radial planes passing through said axis and extending in the direction of said axis beyond one end of the hub towards sheet-engaging tips lying in a common plane normal to said axis said blade being made of a polyurethane elastomer obtained by the reaction of a polytetramethylene ether glycol having the formula HO[(CH.sub.2).sub.4 O].sub.n H where n is from 8 to 41, preferably 39 to 41, and from about 20 to about 95 parts preferably 22 to 26 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of said glycol of a diisocyanate selected from the group consisting of diphenylmethane diisocyanates, toluene diisocyanates, naphthalene diisocyanates and blends thereof and a sufficient amount of cross linking agents to provide a crosslinked elastomer, said cross linking agents comprising a mixture of from about 75% to 60% by weight of a diol having the formula: HO(R.sub.1) OH where R.sub.1 is a straight or branched chain alkyl group having from 2 to 12 carbon atoms and from about 25% to 40% by weight of a triol having the formula: R'--C--[(OH).sub.a (CH.sub.2 OH).sub.b ] where R' is H,CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2 H.sub.5,a is 0 or 1, b is 2 or 3 and a+b=3.

Sheet registration device

A roller for increasing the rate of permeability of liquid carrier from an image formed from a liquid developer comprised of toner particles and liquid carrier. Perforations formed through the skin covering of the blotter roller provide high quality transfer of an image having maximum toner particles and minimal liquid carrier to a final copy sheet, at an increased process speed.
