Novel thermolatent bases and their use as catalysts for the preparation of polyurethanes or epoxy resins are disclosed herein. A process for the preparation of polyurethanes or epoxy resins in the presence of the catalyst is also disclosed.

The invention relates to the use of O-imino-iso-urea compounds as source of radicals to polymerizable compositions comprising these O-imino-iso-urea and to new O-imino-iso-urea compounds. The O-Imino-isoureas compounds are compounds of the formula (I) whereinand salts thereof.

The present invention relates to curable compositions comprising a thermolatent amidine base and an organic material which is polymerizable or crosslinkable with a basic or nucleophilic catalyst. In particular, the invention relates to curable coating compositions, especially powder coating compositions, and curable adhesive compositions, as well as to the use a thermolatent amidine base as a curing catalyst for thermally induced base-catalyzed polymerization or crosslinking reactions.

Polymerizable compositions

The invention relates to novel O-dialkylamino-isoureas and polymerizable compositions comprising these O-dialkylamino-isoureas of compounds of the general formula (I). The invention further relates to the use of O-dialkylamino-isoureas as polymerization initiators, especially to prepare coatings or for controlled degradation of polyolefins.
