An iron-cobalt alloy containing in weight percentages: 10 to 22% of Co; traces to 2.5% of Si; traces to 2% of Al; 0.1 to 1% of Mn; traces to 0.0100% of C, a total of O, N and S content ranging between traces of 0.0070%; a total of Si, Al, Cr, Mo, V, Mn content ranging between 1.1 and 3.5%; a total of Cr, Mo and V content ranging between traces of 3%; a total of Ta and Nb content ranging between traces and 1%; and the rest being iron and impurities resulting from production wherein: 1.23&#xd7;(Al+Mo) %+0.84 (Si+Cr+V) %&#x2212;0.15&#xd7;(Co %&#x2212;15)&#x2266;2.1, and 14.5&#xd7;(Al+Cr) %+12&#xd7;(V+Mo) %+25&#xd7;Si %&#x2267;21. The inventive alloy is useful for making electromagnetic actuator mobile cores.

Iron-cobalt alloy, in particular for the moving core of electromagnetic actuators

The invention concerns a ferromagnetic alloy whereof the chemical composition comprises, in wt. %: 32.5%&#x2266;Ni&#x2266;72.5%; 5%&#x2266;Cr&#x2266;18%; 0.01%&#x2266;Mn&#x2266;4%; C&#x2266;1%; optionally one or more elements selected among Mo, V, Co, Cu, Si, W, Nb and Al, the total contents of said elements being not more than 10%, the remainder being iron and impurities resulting from preparation, the chemical composition further satisfying the following relationships: Cr&#x2212;1.1Ni+23.25&#x2266;0%; 45Cr+11Ni&#x2266;1360; Ni+3Cr&#x2267;60% if Ni&#x2267;37.5; Cr&#x2267;7.5 if Ni&#x2266;37.5. The invention also concerns the use of said alloy for making heating elements for induction heated cooking appliances.

The invention concerns an iron-cobalt alloy, characterised in that it comprises in weight percentages: 10 to 22% of Co; traces to 2.5% of Si; traces to 2% of Al; 0.1 to 1% of Mn; traces to 0.0100% of C; a total of O, N and S content ranging between traces and 0.0070%; a total of Si, Al, Cr, Mo, V, Mn content ranging between 1.1 and 3.5%; a total of Cr, Mo and V content ranging between traces and 3%; a total of Ta and Nb content ranging between traces and 1%; the rest being iron and impurities resulting from production; and in that: 1.23&#xd7;(Al+Mo)%+0.84 (Si+Cr+V)%&#x2212;0.15&#xd7;(Co%&#x2212;15)&#x2266;2.1 and in that 14.5&#xd7;. A maraging steel strip or part and process for manufacture of a strip or of a part cut out of a strip of cold-rolled maraging steel and hardened by a hardening heat treatment. In the process, before the hardening heat treatment is performed, the strip or the part is subjected to cold plastic deformation with a degree of working greater than 30% and the strip or the part is subjected to recrystallization annealing in order to obtain a fine-grained structure with ASTM index higher than 8. The composition by weight of the maraging steel is: 12%&lE;Ni&lE;24.5%; 2.5%&lE;Mo&lE;12%; 4.17%&lE;Co&lE;20%, Al %&lE;0.15%; Ti&lE;0.1%; N&lE;0.003%; Si&lE;0.1%; Mn&lE;0.1%; C&lE;0.005%; S&lE;0.001%; P&lE;0.005%; H&lE;0.0003%; O&lE;0.001%; iron and impurities resulting from smelting, the chemical composition also satisfying the relationships: 20%&lE;Ni&plus;Mo&lE;27%; 50&lE;Co&times;Mo&lE;200; Ti&times;N&lE;2&times;10 .
