A milling assembly for a cold planer including a frame and an actuator assembly having a plurality of movable locking rods for mounting the milling assembly to the frame is disclosed. The milling assembly comprises a drum housing, and a plurality of mounting units fixed to the drum housing for mounting the milling assembly to the frame. The mounting units include a plurality of mounting holes configured to receive a respective end portion of one of the plurality of movable locking rods. In another embodiment, a milling assembly including an actuator assembly with movable locking rods is disclosed.

Quick change milling assembly for a cold planer

A milling machine includes a frame carrying a rotatably-mounted drum in a drum enclosure, a primary reservoir, a pump fluidly associated with the primary reservoir and at least one auxiliary reservoir. The primary reservoir includes at least one fill port and is configured to receive fluid to be enclosed within the primary reservoir. The auxiliary reservoir is removably coupled to the frame, and includes at least one auxiliary air vent opening disposed in an upper portion. The air vent opening permits the passage of air as the auxiliary reservoir is filled and drained. At least one fluid connection fluidly coupled to a lower portion of the auxiliary reservoir fluidly couples the auxiliary reservoir to the primary reservoir. The primary reservoir and the at least one auxiliary reservoir are configured to equilibrate as the pump draws fluid from the primary reservoir.

In a cold planer, a rotor housing partially enclosing a rotor may have a rotor housing side wall with retention plates defining a space in which a rotor housing side plate disposed so that the side plate can translate and rotate relative to the rotor housing. A pair of side plate lift cylinders may operate to vary a vertical position of the rotor housing side plate and a rotation of the rotor housing side plate about a horizontal axis relative to the rotor housing. The cold planer may use information from one or more distance sensors to identify contours in a work surface over which the cold planer is propelled, and actuate the lift cylinders to adjust the position and orientation of the rotor housing side plate to closely track the contour of the work surface and substantially prevent ground material from escaping from the rotor housing.

A foldable conveyor includes a rocker mechanism and actuator coupled to first and second conveyor sections, pivotably connected by a pivotal coupling to pivot the second conveyor section between deployed and stowed positions. The rocker mechanism includes first and second pivotably coupled links pivotably coupled to each other and the first and second conveyor sections, and a mechanical advantage amplifier secured with the first link. The actuator is coupled to the mechanical advantage amplifier such that extension of the actuator moves the second conveyor section to a stowed position below the first conveyor section.

A machine configured to travel across a surface is disclosed. A material removal mechanism is configured to remove material from the surface. A frame supports the material removal mechanism. A conveyor is configured to receive the material and to convey the material to a location off of the machine. A pivotal connection includes connectors connected to the frame and conveyor, respectively, which are configured to mate with one another to allow pivoting of the conveyor relative to the frame.
