Various methods and systems for implementing resource management for an infrastructure are provided. Resource management includes datacenter byproduct management interfaces, datacenter power management, datacenter operations optimization and infrastructure resource management. Resource management facilitates using and distributing physical resources, including incidental physical resources that are generated during operation of an infrastructure, based on a threshold reserve of the physical resource associated with the operating the infrastructure. Resource management can include controlling an amount of the physical resource that is generated and an amount the physical resource that is reserved. The threshold reserve in combination with the control over generating and reserving the physical resource help identify an allocable amount of the physical resource. Physical resources of an infrastructure are quantified to support resource management. Quantifying physical resources is associated with devices of the infrastructure and requests for physical resources in the infrastructure to perform different types of operations.

Datacenter operations optimization system

A location system acquires a first set of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) satellites from a first set of raw GNSS signal data received by a GNSS receiver, using all of the coarse acquisition (C/A) codes for the system of GNSS satellites, to determine a first set of GNSS satellites to use for location processing. At a later time, the location system determines respective sets of GNSS satellites as subsets of successive sets of previously determined sets of GNSS satellites. When the number of identified satellites is less than a threshold, the location system again acquires a set of GNSS satellites from raw data using all of the C/A codes for the system of GNSS satellites.

Datacenter power management system

Methods, systems, and computer programs are presented for cloud-offloaded position calculation with on-device acquisition. One method includes operations for collecting raw global positioning system (GPS) signals for a set of positions, and storing in memory the raw GPS signals. The method further includes processing the raw GPS signals in batch mode at the computing device to obtain acquisition data for the positions, where the processing includes identifying tasks for parallel processing by a graphics processing unit (GPU), performing, by the GPU, the tasks in parallel by assigning each of the tasks to a core processor within the GPU, and combining results from performing the tasks to obtain the acquisition data. Additionally, the method includes an operation for transmitting the acquisition data to a server for calculating locations for the set positions at the server, the server storing the locations and making the locations available for location-tracking applications.

A flexible database and iterative spatial search process is described. In an embodiment, a flexible database server is described which takes input queries in the form of XML strings describing a search specification and parses them using a stored procedure. Searching is performed by generating a temporary table for each term in the search specification and then comparing the temporary tables to pre-existing tables within the database to identify datasets that meet the search specification. An application is also described which generates the XML string in response to user input and which displays the results to a user. The application provides a user interface which enables users to select attributes of results, such as the spatial data associated with a dataset, to include in a second search specification and to trigger this new search.
