A sensor assembly for a castable lure is provided including a pressure sensor configured to measure a water pressure applied to the castable lure when deployed in an underwater environment, a processor, and a memory including computer program code. The computer program code configured to, when executed on the processor, cause the processor to receive pressure data from the pressure sensor, correlate the pressure data with time stamp data, cause the pressure data and correlated time stamp data to be stored in the memory, determine a data connection status between a transceiver and a marine electronic device, and in response to determining that a data connection exists, cause the pressure data and the correlated time stamp data to be transmitted to the marine electronic device. The pressure data and correlated pressure data correspond to a depth profile for a cast of the castable lure.

An apparatus for providing marine information is provided including a user interface, a processor, and a memory including computer program code. The memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to generate a sonar image based on sonar return data received from an underwater environment, determine a location associated with the sonar return data based on location data received from one or more position sensors, and render a nautical chart on a display. The computer program code is further configured to cause the apparatus to receive a user input on the user interface directed to a portion of the display in which the nautical chart is presented, and modify presentation of the nautical chart such that the portion of the display presents the sonar image in response to receiving the user input.

Apparatuses and methods are provided herein for performing marine auto-ranging. Marine auto-ranging may include the functionality to determine current conditions associated with a watercraft (e.g., remaining fuel, location, speed, wind, current, etc.) and determine a range for the watercraft and, in turn, possible destinations for the watercraft that are within range on a map. A marine electronic device may be configured to display a map and overlay the map with an indication of how far a watercraft could travel based on such current conditions, such as a highlighted or shaded geographical area around a current location of the watercraft on the map.

Various implementations described herein are directed to a marine electronics device used to display marine sonar data. The marine electronics device may include a computer system with a processor, memory, and a display. The memory may have a plurality of executable instructions. When the executable instructions are executed by the processor, the processor may receive depth information determined using a sonar device disposed underneath a vessel and configured to acquire sonar data in the direction of travel of the vessel. The processor may then cause the received depth information to be displayed on a navigation chart.

A wind sensor, such as a sonic anemometer, may be utilized to cause a trolling motor to activate to propel a watercraft toward a virtual anchor location, route, or destination, in response to detection of an occurrence or wind. In some instances, the trolling motor may be steered to a direction opposite a wind direction when activated. The trolling motor may also be oriented to a corrective direction based on a comparison of a current location to the virtual anchor location, route, or destination. Propelling the watercraft may also include determining a propulsion correction based on wind speed, wind direction, and/or watercraft characteristics. Depending on the configuration, the wind sensor may be integrated into the housing of the trolling motor.

Various implementations described herein are directed to a device having a display and a computer configured to receive data from one or more sensors. The data may include positional data and thermocline data. The computer may be configured to display a first image associated with a chart map of a body of water that identifies areas having a thermocline layer based on the positional data and the thermocline data.

Various implementations described herein are directed to an apparatus for displaying marine electronic navigation data. The apparatus comprises one or more processors, a screen configured to display marine data, and a memory having a plurality of executable instructions. The executable instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, may cause the one or more processors to determine a location of a vessel and at least one of a heading or a projected direction of travel of the vessel, retrieve a bathymetric chart corresponding to the location, analyze the bathymetric chart, the location, and the at least one heading or projected direction of travel of the vessel to determine a plurality of depths that each correspond to one of a plurality of locations corresponding to the heading or the projected direction of travel of the vessel, and display the plurality of depths on the screen.

Various implementations described herein are directed to a non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions which, when executed by a computer, may cause the computer to receive a location and heading of a vessel. The computer may retrieve a bathymetric chart corresponding to the location. The computer may analyze the bathymetric chart, location and heading to determine depths at a plurality of locations in front of the vessel. The computer may also display the depths.
