A high performance synchronous transmission to be used aboard a motorcycle for transmitting the motion generated by an engine to a driving wheel, between a crankshaft and a hub shaft parallel therebetween and perpendicular to the median plane of the motorcycle, comprising on the crankshaft a centrifugal clutch, for the automatic engagement of the first speed above a predetermined rotation regime, and a driving pulley apt to transmit the motion through a subsequent kinematic chain, is provided with a coupling between crankshaft and driving pulley which connects them directly, by determining with its own engagement the exclusion of said centrifugal clutch, said coupling being controlled in disengagement when a control lever is in active position.

High performance synchronous transmission

A synchronous transmission () for a motorcycle comprises a primary shaft () of mechanical gearbox, and a pair of secondary shafts () equipped with one or more secondary gearwheels for transmitting the motion to a hub shaft (), wherein a desmodromic drum () actuates a pair of coupling forks () selectively defining the position of respective sliding couplings () between primary () and secondary shafts () to select all speeds of the transmission, the desmodromic drum () being in phase with a device () for actuating the gearwheels, and wherein the coupling forks () are equipped with a cam follower end () maneuvered by said desmodromic drum () having a cylindrical surface () whereon a single desmodromic track () is formed.

A synchronizer for a transmission to be used aboard a motor vehicle, includes: a primary shaft; a bell-shaped member assembled on the primary shaft having inside a friction cylindrical surface; a supporting element, revolvingly mounted on the primary shaft and housed within the bell-shaped member; a shoe having a friction profile located within an outer edge of the supporting element and faced towards the friction cylindrical surface of the bell-shaped member, jointed to the supporting element by a pair of arms in an articulated quadrilateral linkage configuration; and means for translating the shoe by rotating said arms both in clockwise and counter clockwise direction, by causing a projection of the shoe above the outer edge of the supporting element, interference of an end of the shoe with said friction cylindrical surface of the bell-shaped member, thereby causing a jamming thereof.
