The present disclosure relates to filters in general, and the teachings may be applied to a filter assembly for use in a fuel injector, the fuel injector, and internal combustion engines. A filter assembly may include: a filter element with a frame having an axial end and a tubular filter housing receiving the filter element. The filter housing may have a side wall with a taper supporting the axial end. The taper may have the shape of a conic section with an opening angle &#x3b3; of less than 180&#xb0;. The outer circumferential surface of the frame may include a first section in the section of the taper having the shape of a conic section with an opening angle &#x3b1; of less than 180&#xb0;.

Filter assembly and fuel injector

The present disclosure generally relates to nozzles for a valve and, more specifically, to a fuel injection valve for a combustion engine. In some embodiments, a nozzle assembly for a fuel injection valve for a combustion engine may include: a valve body with a central longitudinal axis; a valve cavity within the valve body; a nozzle tip body comprising a protrusion limiting a free volume of the valve cavity; and at least one nozzle aperture out from the valve cavity through the protrusion. The protrusion may extend from an end surface of the nozzle tip body in an extending direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the nozzle tip body away from the valve cavity and comprise a first section adjacent to the end surface, the first section having a cylindrical outer surface, and a second section adjacent to the first section, the second section having an outer surface of decreasing diameter in the course away from the end surface along the extending direction.

Nozzle assembly and fuel injection valve for a combustion engine

A valve assembly for a fluid injector for an internal combustion engine includes a valve body with a valve recess, a central longitudinal axis, and a first axial end and a second axial end with respect to the central longitudinal axis. A valve needle is axially moveable within the valve recess with respect to the central longitudinal axis. In concurrence with a seal seat area the valve needle prevents a fluid flow through at least one flow hole in its closing position and otherwise enables it. Furthermore, the injector comprises a sac volume step adjacent to the seal seat area forming a part of an inner surface of a wall of the valve body and a sac volume being designed as one end of the valve recess and being limited by a further part of the inner surface of the wall of the valve body.

A filter for a fluid injection valve includes a filter sleeve and a fastening element. The fastening element includes a fitting portion for fastening the filter in the fluid injection valve and a connection portion mechanically interacting with a first part of the filter sleeve for connecting the filter sleeve and the fastening element. The filter sleeve includes a second part arranged inside the fastening element and disposed at a distance from the fitting portion of the fastening element. A fluid injection valve and a method for producing the filter are also disclosed.

A filter assembly for a fuel injector. In some embodiments, the filter assembly has a longitudinal axis and comprises a filter element, a filter housing, and a cap. The filter element may have a cylindrical section with a first axial end and a second axial end. The tubular filter housing may receive the filter element. The tubular filter housing may include a radial protrusion supporting the first axial end of the cylindrical section when the filter element is received therein. The cap may hold the filter element at the second axial end and encompass the filter housing along an outer circumference. The second axial end may rest directly against the cap.

Filter assembly for a fuel injector

A valve assembly for an injection valve and a method for assembling a valve assembly are provided. The valve assembly includes a valve body with a central longitudinal axis and having a cavity with a fluid inlet portion and a fluid outlet portion, an end portion being arranged at an axial end facing away from the fluid outlet portion, and a seat being arranged at an axial end of the valve body facing the fluid outlet portion. A valve needle is axially movable in the cavity and prevents a fluid flow through the fluid outlet portion in a closing position and releases the fluid flow through the flu-id outlet portion in further positions. The valve needle has an axial end facing away from the fluid outlet portion and facing the end portion, and a seat part resting on the seat of the valve body in the closing position. A contact area between the seat part and the seat of the valve body has a first outer diameter. The valve assembly includes an electro-magnetic actuator unit being designed to actuate the valve needle. A bellow arrangement includes a bellow and an end portion, the bellow is fixedly coupled to the end portion in a coupling area. The coupling area has a second outer diameter. The first outer diameter is equal to the second outer diameter.

A fluid injector has an actuator unit, a cartridge, which has a recess, which on one of its open ends forms an injection nozzle and takes in a needle. The needle has a first and a second part (). The first part () is inserted into the recess and closes or opens the injection nozzle depending on the position of the first part (). The second part () is coupled to the actuator unit on one of its free ends and is coupled to the first part () via a coupling unit. The coupling unit is arranged in positive connection to the first part () and is joined to the second part. In that way the material for the first part may be chosen for being highly wear resistant. On the other hand the material of the second part () may be chosen for being well-suited for a joining process.

Fluid injector

A fluid injector has a housing, a valve body and an actuator unit inserted into the housing. The valve body has a cartridge with a recess that takes in a needle. The valve body further has a hollow body arranged in a fixed position to the needle and forming a first spring rest. The valve body further has a valve cap, which takes in the cartridge and forms a second spring rest. A return spring rests on the first spring rest and on the second spring rest. The valve cap, the housing and the cartridge are formed such, that before the valve cap and the housing and the valve cap and cartridge are permanently fixed to each other the valve cap is moveable relative to the housing and the cartridge while the housing and the cartridge stay in a fixed position relative to each other.
