The present invention relates to a tyre for vehicle wheels comprising at least one structural element comprising a crosslinked elastomeric material obtained by crosslinking a crosslinkable elastomeric composition comprising a predispersion of natural rubber and lignin obtained by co-precipitation from latex, where said lignin has a concentration of phenolic groups higher than 2 mmol per gram of lignin, and where said predispersion comprises an amount of said lignin such as to provide, in said crosslinkable elastomeric composition, a concentration of lignin equal to or lower than about 25 phr.

Tyre for vehicle wheels comprising a composite reinforcing filler

A process for producing tyres with auxiliary components for vehicle wheels is described. The process includes i) covering the external surface of an expandable chamber for tyre vulcanisation and moulding apparatuses with a first substantially cross-linkable polysiloxane composition and ii) covering the radially inner surface of the impermeable elastomeric material layer of the green tyre with a second substantially non-cross-linkable polysiloxane composition. An expandable chamber for tyre vulcanisation and moulding apparatuses and, a process for treating the expandable chamber are also described.

Process for producing tyres provided with auxiliary components for vehicle wheels

An iso-styrene:diene-terminated copolymer is described which includes (i) a polymeric block of styrene and/or substituted styrene consisting of a sequence of styrene and/or substituted styrene in isotactic configuration, and (ii) a terminal polymeric block consisting of a sequence of one or more dienic monomers.

High-performance tyre

A tyre for wheels of vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, is described. The tyre has a tread with at least one iso-styrene/trans-butadiene elastomeric copolymer with a styrene content higher than 30% by weight with respect to the total weight of copolymer and a molecular weight higher than 500,000. The tread has improved dynamic-mechanical behaviour at high temperatures, with higher dynamic modulus and hysteresis values, and at the same time better properties at break, optimum elasticity at low temperature and higher abrasion resistance.

High performance tyre

A (iso-styrene/trans-butadiene): diene-terminated copolymer is described which includes (i) a polymeric block of styrene-butadiene consisting of a random sequence of butadiene in trans conformation and styrene in isotactic configuration, and (ii) a terminal polymeric block consisting of a sequence of one or more dienic monomers.

A tyre for wheels of vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, is described. The tyre has a tread with at least one copolymer selected from iso-styrene: diene-terminated copolymers. The tread has less sensitivity to the effects of temperature, with less weakness, better consistency of performances, and improved characteristics in terms of grip and/or resistance to laceration.

Preferably, said coating layer is an external sheathing layer having a protective function.

Optical fiber has a glass portion and at least one coating of crosslinked polymer material surrounding the glass portion, the coating being obtained by crosslinking a composition of (a) at least one radically crosslinkable oligomer containing at least two reactive functional groups and having a number average molecular weight lower than about 1,000, preferably between about 400 and about 900; (b) at least one cationically crosslinkable compound containing at least one reactive functional group; (c) at least one free radical photoinitiator; and (d) at least one cationic photoinitiator. Preferably, the coating is a secondary coating or, in the case of a ribbon of optical fibers, it is a common polymer coating known as a 'common coating'.

A utility pole includes a thermoplastic composite material including: (a) at least one olefin polymer; and (b) at least one reinforcing fiber material embedded in the at least one olefin polymer, the thermoplastic composite material having a specific tensile strength higher than or equal to 15 MPa/(gr/cm), preferably 20 MPa/(gr/cm) to 200 MPa/(gr/cm), and more preferably 30 MPa/(gr/cm) to 150 MPa/(gr/cm) and a specific tensile modulus higher than or equal to 2000 MPa/(gr/cm), preferably 2500 MPa/(gr/cm) to 20000 MPa/(gr/cm), and more preferably 3000 MPa/(gr/cm) to 15000 MPa/(gr/cm).

An optical fiber having: a) a glass portion; and b) at least one protective coating layer disposed to surround the glass portion, the protective coating layer having a modulus of elasticity value between &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. and +60&#xb0; C. between 5 MPa and 600 MPa, preferably not higher than 500 MPa, more preferably not higher than 450 MPa and much more preferably not higher than 300. A thermoplastic material has a) from 5% weight to 95% by weight, preferably from 10% by weight to 60% by weight, of vulcanized rubber in a subdivided form; b) from 5% by weight to 95% by weight, preferably from 40% by weight to 90% by weight, of at least one heterophase copolymer having a thermoplastic phase made from a propylene homopolymer or copolymer and an elastomeric phase made from a copolymer of ethylene with an &#x3b1;-olefin, preferably with propylene; c) from 0% by weight to 90% by weight, preferably from 0% by weight to 50% by weight, of at least one &#x3b1;-olefin homopolymer or copolymer different from b); the amounts of a), b) and c) being expressed with respect to the total weight of a)+b)+c). The thermoplastic material shows improved mechanical properties, in particular, improved elongation at break.

Thermoplastic material comprising a vulcanized rubber in a subdivided form

An optical fiber cable having a polymeric component, in particular a buffer tube, suitable for both terrestrial and undersea uses. The polymeric material forming the component has a copolymer of propylene with a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin and preferably a nucleating agent disbursed therein. The obtained component shows improved dimensional stability, which guarantees its non-deformability, and high transparency and can be extruded at lower extrusion temperatures.
