A system for replacing an abrasive sheet in a sanding machine including a working head in which it is provided a support body having an engagement surface arranged to engage with an abrasive sheet. The sanding machine also includes a handling device arranged to actuate the support body in space according to at least two degrees of freedom. The system may include a computing device to compute the spatial orientation of the support body. Furthermore, the system may include a removal station having a gripping element configured to grip the abrasive sheet in order to disengage the abrasive sheet from the support body.

Apparatus for changing an abrasive sheet in an abrading machine

An apparatus for performing surgery includes a first link that includes a first end and a second end, a second link that includes a first end and a second end, and an end effector positioned at the first end of the first link. The first end of the second link is coupled to the first link by a hinge. The end effector traces along a surface, which may be spherical or hemispherical. A system that includes the apparatus and an imaging device, such as a CT scanner, is also described.

System for performing robot-assisted surgery

A system for performing robotic surgery on a patient disposed on a bed includes a gantry comprising a computed tomography (CT) diagnostic device, a platform supporting the gantry, and a robotic arm assembly attached to the platform. The gantry slides along the platform via a first carriage to allow entry of at least part of the patient into the bore of the CT device. The robotic arm assembly is attached to the platform via a pivot arm and a second carriage to allow the assembly to slide along the platform to enable surgery to be performed on the patient. The pivot arm is substantially parallel to the upper surface of the platform.

Method and apparatus for carrying out the replacement of an abrasive element in a machine for working surfaces

An interspinous fusion device includes a central body defining a longitudinal direction and configured to be inserted between two adjacent spinous processes; and a proximal body and a distal body, opposite to each other with respect to the central body and configured to relatively translate towards each other along the longitudinal direction. A pair of proximal jaws and a pair of distal jaws opposite to each other with respect to the central body are spaced apart from each other along the longitudinal direction, and have a first end connected by hinges to the proximal body or to the distal body and a second end configured to abut against a spinous process. An actuation system percutaneously actuates the proximal and distal bodies to cause relative translation and rotation of the jaws about the proximal body and the distal body, thereby opening and closing the jaws.

An apparatus for making a biocompatible three-dimensional object including at least one delivery unit arranged to deliver at least one biocompatible fluid substance towards a 3D mold having a matrix surface to obtain a coating layer of a predetermined thickness configured for coating the matrix surface. The three-dimensional object may be a heart valve. Furthermore, a handling unit is provided arranged to provide a relative movement according to at least 3 degrees of freedom between the 3D mold and each delivery unit. The 3D mold is arranged to be coated by the delivered biocompatible fluid substance, in order to obtain a three-dimensional object having an object surface copying the matrix surface of the support body.

An apparatus for replacing an abrasive sheet in a sanding machine comprising a working head in which it is provided a support body having an engagement surface arranged to engage with an abrasive sheet. The sanding machine also comprises a handling device arranged to actuate the support body in space according to at least two degrees of freedom. The face of the abrasive sheet facing, in use, towards the support body and the engagement surface of this comprises a mutual engagement means of removable type. For example, the mutual engagement means can provide a layer of Velcro, i.e. a velvet layer on a face and a plurality of hooks on the other face, or an adhesive layer, in particular of reversible glue layer, or a plurality of projections and recesses mutually engageable with each other, or similar engagement elements. Furthermore, is provided a removal station in which it is installed a removal device having a sharp edge arranged to remove the sheet from the support body through a plurality of operations.

Apparartus for changing an abrasive sheet in an abrading machine

An apparatus () for detecting mechanical features of materials, in particular metal materials, comprising an indenter () adapted to be pushed against a sample material () in which it penetrates for a depth (h) and responsive to the hardness of the materials same. The apparatus () provides means for generating a measured force (F) and a transmission gear () which changes the rotational motion of shaft () of motor () into a linear reversible movement. The force generated is then amplified in a hydraulic way and transmitted to the indenter (). This solution allows to lighten and to reduce the size of the mechanisms for generating the force, reducing also wear and mechanical backlash, as well as costs and overall dimensions. An advantage is also to measure with precision the stroke of the indenter with corresponding control in precision of the penetration (h) of the indenter in the sample material.
