A threshing and separating system for an agricultural harvester includes a concave having a plurality of perforations; a rotor having an outer surface and at least partially enclosed by the concave; and a plurality of rasp bars connected to the outer surface of the rotor, each rasp bar having a working surface defining a working angle relative to a tangent of the outer surface. At least one of the rasp bars is an adjustable rasp bar with an adjustable working surface pivotably coupled to the rotor. The system further includes an actuator coupled to the adjustable rasp bar and configured to selectively pivot the adjustable working surface to adjust the working angle of the adjustable rasp bar.

A combine harvester has a driving shoe arrangement. The driving shoe includes a preparation pan and one or more sieves, coupled to a drive mechanism for driving a reciprocating movement of the pan and sieves. The stroke of the reciprocating movement of the pan and/or sieves is adjustable, through the application of a drive mechanism including one or more pivotably mounted support arms for supporting the pan or sieve, and a drive arm connected to one of the support arms through an adjustable connection link. The adjustable connection link can be a variable length actuator whose length determines the stroke of the pan or sieve. The stroke of the pan or sieve can be adjusted during a harvesting run, thereby allowing a fast adjustment to changing external conditions such as the slope of the terrain.

An active crop residue spreader for an agricultural combine including two horizontal rotor impellers for guiding and uniformly distributing the crop residue on a field, a triangular nose divider with a pyramidal shape which is wider at the base and an extension near or into the chopper. A control system, and the method of use thereof, for controlling the positioning of an adjustable deflector employed to transition or redirect a flow of crop residue from an axially arranged threshing or separating system of an agricultural combine to and through a chopper assembly and into a crop residue distribution system for distributing the residue onto a field, and more particularly, to a control system that is responsive to changes in the amounts of crop residue being distributed by side-by-side spreader assemblies of the crop residue distribution system to alter the positioning of the adjustable deflector to change the flow of crop residue and to more closely balance and equalize the amounts of crop residue being distributed by the side-by-side spreader assemblies of the crop residue distribution system.

An adjustable flow distributor for a vertical spreader operable for discharging a flow of straw and other crop residue in a sideward direction for deposition over a field, the flow distributor including a metering edge and the adjustability allowing positioning the metering edge for tailoring or adjusting a pattern of discharged flow of crop residue, for instance, so as to be better and more evenly distributed over a swath of an agricultural field from which the crop was harvested, particularly a region of the swatch in proximity to the spreader and/or chopper.

Adjustable deflector apparatus for transitioning crop residue from an axially arranged threshing system of a combine to a crop residue distribution system is disposed in a position such that at least a portion of a crop residue flow from the threshing system will strike or impinge the deflector and be deflected thereby downwardly and transversely toward the crop residue distribution system. An adjusting mechanism is operable for moving the deflector in relation to an internal side of the combine for adjusting a desired parameter or parameters of the deflected flow.
