The present invention generally relates to the field of curable resin compositions for cold flexible applications which are prepared from at least one monofunctional monomer and at least one urethane (meth)acrylate and which exhibit high performing coating properties over a broad range of service temperatures including temperatures in very cold conditions, methods for making these curable compositions and their uses.

Curable resin composition

The present invention relates to an aqueous radiation curable composition comprising: (I) at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound (A), and (II) at least one emulsifier (B) comprising alternating polyalkylene oxide segments, wherein said emulsifier optionally bears one or more groups selected from alkyl groups, aryl groups hydroxyl groups and/or ethylenically unsaturated groups, and wherein said emulsifier (B) has an HLB value of at least 4.5, preferably at least 7. The compositions of the invention are particularly suited for the manufacture of sprayable eco-friendly hardcoats, but they are also suitable for the making of inks, overprint varnishes and adhesives, alone or in combination with e.g. a water-borne polymer dispersion.

Active energy ray curable aqueous emulsions

The present invention relates to a (meth)acrylated compound (A) prepared from: (i) a polyol constituent, (ii) a polyacid constituent and (iii) one or more (meth)acrylating compounds, wherein the polyol constituent comprises at least 30% by weight of one or more cyclic ether polyols, relative to the total weight of the polyol constituent, and wherein the compound (A) optionally further contains one or more moieties selected from the group consisting of (poly)caprolactone-containing moieties (ai), (poly)lactide- and/or (poly)glycolide-containing moieties (aii), moieties providing epoxide groups (aiii) and moieties providing alkylene oxide groups containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms (aiv). The compounds of the invention are in particular suited for the making of radiation curable coating compositions and inks less prone to migration.

Radiation curable (meth)acrylated compounds

The present invention relates to a radiation curable composition comprising at least one (meth)acrylated compound compound (A); and at least one inert polyester (B) that is prepared from a (i) polyol component comprising at least one cyclic ether polyol and (ii) from a polyacid component. The present invention further relates to their preparation and uses.

The present invention relates to (meth)acrylated compounds (A) prepared from (a) at least one cyclic ether polyol, (b) at least one linking compound (b1) and/or (b2), wherein the linking compound (b1) is selected from cyclic compounds (b11) containing at least one (I) group in the cycle where X=O or NH, from hydroxy acids (b12) and/or from alkylene oxides (b13) containing from 2 to 4 carbon atoms and the linking compound (b2) is selected from epihalohydrins or polyisocyanates, (c) a (meth)acrylating compound; and to their use in radiation curable compositions for the coatings, inks, overprint varnishes, adhesives and composites. 

Radiation curable (meth) acrylated compounds

A process for preparing a substrate having thereon sites reactive with the reactive groups of a molecular probe, the process comprising the steps of applying to the substrate surface a material comprising one or more reactive sites having an activated ethylenically unsaturated double bond of the formula I: wherein the substituents are defined in the specification and, in a further step, covalently binding the reactive group of the molecular probe to the activated ethylenically unsaturated double bond of the reactive sites having formula I.

Substrates, preparation and use

The present invention relates to radiation-curable compositions useful as ink vehicles or inks, in particular UV-curable inks, such as UV-litho inks, comprising a (meth)acrylated styrene allyl alcohol copolymer obtained from the (meth)acrylation of a styrene allyl alcohol (SAA) copolymer with (meth)acrylic acid and/or one or more alkyl(meth)acrylates, and at least one alkoxylated acrylated monomer.
