An inkjet ink composition includes from about 3 wt. % to about 8 wt. % of a solvent selected from diacetone alcohol, 2,3-butanediol, 1,3,5-trioxane, hexylene glycol, and combinations thereof. The composition further includes from about 0.5 wt. % to about 1 wt. % of 1,2-hexanediol; from about 0.1 wt. % to about 2.0 wt. % of a fluorosurfactant; from about 3 wt. % to about 6 wt. % of a pigment; a dispersant; and water.

Inkjet ink composition

The present invention is drawn to ink sets, methods of electronically sensing printed images, and ink-jet printing systems. In one embodiment, an ink set for ink-jet printing can include a cyan ink including cyan colorant, a magenta ink including magenta colorant, and a yellow ink including yellow colorant. All three inks of the ink set can include an infrared absorbing dye and have an overlapping infrared absorbance range with respect to one another.

An inkjet ink composition includes water and effective amounts of one or more of: derivatized 2-pyrrolidinones; glycerol polyoxyethyl ethers; diols; or combinations thereof. The inkjet ink composition also includes an effective amount of functionalized nanocrystals.

Inkjet ink compositions and methods of making the same

Rendering using at least two levels of gray

A gray ink for ink-jet printing, comprising an ink vehicle; and at least one black dye selected from the group consisting of pacified Reactive Black 31, Formula I, and Direct Blue 199 TMA; and at least one yellow dye selected from the group consisting of AY23, Y104 and Y1189. Magenta and cyan dyes can also be used with the black and yellow dyes in the gray ink.

Gray inks for ink-jet printing

The present invention is drawn to dye sets for formulating ink-jet ink sets, and to specific ink sets. The dye set can comprise cyan colorant including a phthalocyanine dye; magenta colorant including a copper- or nickel-containing azo dye; and yellow colorant including at least one of Yellow 1189 dye and Yellow 104 dye yellow colorant having the structure Formula 1:wherein Ris H, SOM, COOM, or SONH; and wherein Ris H, SOM, COOM, or SONH; and wherein Ris H or CH; and wherein n and m are 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6; and wherein M is H, Na, Li, K, ammonium, ammonium substituted with alkyl or combinations thereof. Optionally, a cyan triarylmethine dye such as Acid Blue 9, or another similar cyan dye, can be blended with the phthalocyanine dye; a rhodamine dye can be blended with the copper- or nickel-containing azo dye; and/or Acid Yellow 17 or Acid Yellow 23 can be blended with Formula 1.

Dye sets and ink sets for ink-jet ink imaging

The present invention is drawn to ink-vehicle compositions and systems adapted for use in low dye load ink compositions, contain no salts, and provide low orifice plate puddling. Specifically, a non-reactive ink-vehicle for low dye-load ink-jet inks can comprise an effective amount of water; from 1% to 3% by weight of a 1,5-pentanediol co-solvent; from 7.5% to 15% by weight of a trimethylolpropane co-solvent; and from 5% to 8% by weight of a third co-solvent, with the proviso that the ink-vehicle comprise at least 20% by weight of total co-solvent. Alternatively, a non-reactive ink-vehicle for low dye-load ink-jet inks can comprise an effective amount of water; from 1% to 3% by weight of a 1,5-pentanediol co-solvent; from 7.5% to 15% by weight of a trimethylolpropane co-solvent; and from 0.05% to 0.25% of a buffer consisting essentially of 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol. These ink-jet ink vehicles can be used in swappable ink-jet pen systems having a common service station.

Non-reactive ink vehicle formulation

The present invention is drawn to ink-vehicle compositions and systems adapted for use in low dye load ink compositions, contain no salts, and provide low orifice plate puddling.
