An online multi-phase flow meter for continuously and accurately measuring the volumetric quantities of gas, oil, and water flowing concurrently in a conventional feed pipeline, such as an oil well pipeline or a transport pipeline. The online multi-phase flow meter includes: an inlet pipe; an exit pipe; a cylindrical gas separation unit that is connected to the inlet pipe; a gas measuring system; an oil and water measuring system; a slurry collection system; a maintenance system; an electronic controller and solenoid valve for maintaining a minimum liquid level in the cylindrical gas separation unit; and a data acquisition system comprising a microprocessor. Also, a method for continuously and accurately measuring the volumetric quantities of a multi-phase mixture containing gas, oil, and water with the online multi-phase flow meter.

Online multi-phase flow meter system

The multi-phase flow metering system facilitates the measurement of the flow of oil, gas, and/or other materials from one or more producing petroleum wells. The system has an expansion chamber to separate liquid and as phases. The gas rises through a pipe extending from the top of the expansion chamber. Liquids flow from the bottom of the expansion chamber through a generally U-shaped line having a sediment trap therein. Separate metering devices are provided in the gas outflow line and in the liquid line for accurately measuring the flow of each phase, and in the inlet line for measuring temperature, pressure, and flow at that point. The system includes float valves at the inlet to the gas outflow line and at the liquid phase outlet to control flow through the system. The gas outflow line may continue as a separate line, or reconnect to the liquid outflow line.

Multi-phase flow metering system

The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) testing device includes a corrosion cell for placing a specimen to be tested therein. The corrosion cell is configured to simulate the extreme high temperature and pressure, as well as the corrosive environments experienced by engineered, industrial components. A heating element and a pressurizing assembly are operatively attached to the corrosive cell to simulate the high temperature and pressure environs. A circulation assembly is also attached to the corrosion cell to simulate both flowing and stagnant conditions of the corrosion solution that the industrial component can be subjected to. A loading assembly with a specimen holding shaft is operatively attached to the specimen to place a predetermined and constant tensile load on the specimen until fracture in order to determine Kand Kof the engineered component. PTFE seals are used to seal the specimen holding shaft during testing.

Stress corrosion cracking testing device

The shell and tube heat exchanger includes a shell having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and a plurality of tubes disposed inside the shell, the tubes having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. An impingement baffle having a plurality of perforations is disposed in the shell between the shell fluid inlet and the tubes. The impingement baffle is configured to guide a heat exchanger fluid from the shell fluid inlet to distribute the heat exchanger fluid uniformly around the tubes. The perforations prevent recirculation and stagnation of fluid flow behind the baffle, thereby preventing fouling and corrosion with subsequent thinning of the tube walls.

The hybrid solar air-conditioning system includes an air intake having an air drying system that uses a liquid desiccant to dry ambient air, a desiccant regeneration system that uses a heat exchanger having oil heated by solar energy to remove water from the desiccant, an indirect evaporative air conditioner that uses an air-air heat exchanger to cool the dried air indirectly with evaporatively cooled air, a distilled water recovery system to recover water from the desiccant and from the evaporatively cooled air in the form of distilled water, and a microprocessor-based controller to control room temperature and relative humidity, and to regulate air intake and the flow of desiccant and oil in the system. The hybrid system enables the use of evaporative cooling in regions having high humidity.
