According to one embodiment, an illumination device includes a first liquid crystal element opposed to a light emitting region, a second liquid crystal element including a first main surface and a second main surface, a first phase difference layer disposed on the second main surface, a second phase difference layer disposed on the second main surface and adjacent to the first phase difference layer, and a diffusion layer opposed to the first phase difference layer and the second phase difference layer. Each of the first liquid crystal element and the second liquid crystal element has a plurality of liquid crystal molecules, and is cured in a state in which an alignment direction of the liquid crystal molecules has continuously changed in plane.

A display device includes a first flexible substrate on which a display region and a peripheral region located along a periphery of the display region are arranged; a connection terminal provided in the peripheral region, the connection terminal being connected with an integrated circuit; and a first insulating film in contact with the first flexible substrate. The first insulating film is present in the display region, and the first insulating film is not present between the connection terminal and the first flexible substrate.

Liquid crystal display device

A thin display device with a less bezel portion is provided. The display device includes: a first substrate with flexibility, the first substrate having a display section including a first pixel; a second substrate with flexibility; and a sealant which bonds the first substrate and the second substrate together. A curved part is provided inside the sealant in a planar view. When a surface of the first substrate opposing the second substrate is taken as a front surface and a surface opposite to the front surface is taken as a back surface, the back surface inside the curved part and the back surface outside the curved part are overlapped each other in a planar view. The display section is provided in the curved part.

A problem to be solved is, in a thin type display panel with few bezel sections, improving strength in a curved part or adhesion between substrates. A display panel includes a first substrate having flexibility, a second substrate having flexibility, a sealant for adhering the first substrate and the second substrate, and an adhesion section for adhering the first substrate and the second substrate arranged on the inner side or outer side of the sealant, wherein a curved part is arranged on the inner side of the sealant, and the adhesion section is arranged in the curved part or in the vicinity of the curved part.

A display device includes a first substrate having flexibility, a second substrate having flexibility, and a sealant adhering together the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the sealant includes a curved section on an inner side in a planar view, the first substrate includes a first region not corresponding to the curved section and a second region corresponding to the curved section, and also a signal line from the first region to the second region, and a second angle formed by an extending direction of the signal line and a curved axis direction of the curved section in the second region is smaller than a first angle formed by an extending direction of the signal line and the curved axis direction in the first region.
