Multiple camera calibration chart

A surveillance system includes an infrared sensor system coupled to output an infrared signal in response to receiving infrared light, and an audio recording system coupled to output an audio signal in response to recording sound. An image sensor is system coupled to output an image signal in response to receiving image light. A controller is coupled to the infrared sensor system, the audio recording system, and the image sensor system. The controller includes logic that when executed by the controller causes the surveillance system to perform operations including receiving the infrared signal from the infrared sensor system, activating the audio recording system to record the sound, and activating the image sensor system to output the image signal.

Reducing false alarms in surveillance systems

A multiple camera imaging system comprises a first camera image sensor to obtain a first image of a scene and a second camera image sensor to obtain a second image. The system further comprises an image signal processor (ISP) to produce a first roughly-aligned image from the first image and a second roughly-aligned image from the second image. A feature point in the first roughly-aligned image is identified. A center of a search zone is created, which is a combination of the position of the feature point and an associated disparity value from the first and second roughly-aligned images. The search zone is created within the second roughly-aligned image. Candidate feature points are identified within the search zone, which is much smaller than the entire image. A best-matched feature point pair in the first roughly-aligned image and the second roughly-aligned image is then identified.

Aligning two images by matching their feature points

A multiple camera imaging system, comprising a first camera image sensor configured to obtain a first image of a scene from a first vantage perspective point; a second camera image sensor configured to obtain a second image of the scene from a second vantage perspective point; and an image signal processor (ISP), configured to process the first image and the second image by performing the following steps: producing a first monotone image from the first image, and a second monotone image from the second image; projecting the first monotone image to produce a first one-dimensional profile; and projecting the second monotone image to produce a second one-dimensional profile; extracting a matching information from the first and second one-dimensional profiles by matching the second one-dimensional profile to the first one dimensional profile; using the matching information produce a first processed two-dimensional image, and a second processed two-dimensional image that is aligned with the first processed two-dimensional image.

Alignment of multiple camera images by matching projected one dimensional image profiles

An integrated circuit includes a control module and a physical layer device. The control module (i) during each of multiple beacon intervals, operates a mobile device in a sleep mode or a listen mode, and (ii) for each of the beacon intervals, selects a length of the sleep mode or the listen mode such that resulting lengths of the sleep mode or the listen mode vary randomly. The control module partially or fully powers down the mobile device during the sleep mode. The physical layer device (i) wirelessly transmits, while the control module operates the mobile device in an active mode, a signal to discover one or more peers in a peer-to-peer network, and (ii) while the control module is operating the mobile device in the listen mode, receives responses to the signal. The control module determines which of the peers are discoverable based on the responses.

Method and integrated circuit for discovering peers in a peer-to-peer network

A system is provided and includes a buffer, an interface, a processor, and an output device. The interface is configured to receive a packet from a network. The processor is configured to: determine a delay of the network in transmitting the packet; prior to storing the packet in the buffer, determine statistics of the buffer, and an amount the buffer is filled; determine a predetermined delay of the buffer based on the delay of the network, and the statistics; estimate an actual delay of the buffer for the packet based on the amount the buffer is filled; generate an error signal based on the predetermined delay and the actual delay; and based on the error signal, one of compress and expand the packet to change a first length of the packet to a second length. The output device is configured to output the packet based on the second length.

Integrated adaptive jitter buffer

A mobile device includes a first interface module, a second interface module, and a control module. The first interface module is configured to interface the mobile device to a first wireless network and to receive data from a transmitting device via the first wireless network. The second interface module is configured to interface the mobile device to a second wireless network. The control module is configured to determine based on the data received when to switch a link to the transmitting device from the first wireless network to the second wireless network. The control module is further configured to transmit a message that informs the transmitting device not to transmit the data to the mobile device via the first wireless network in response to the link being switched to the second wireless network.

Method and apparatus for performing a handoff of a data communication session from one network to another network

A first device including a transmitter, a receiver, and a processor. The transmitter is configured to wirelessly transmit a query to a second device that is remote from the first device. The query is configured to not generate an alert to a user of the second device in response to the second device receiving the query. The receiver is configured to wirelessly receive data from the second device in response to the query transmitted to the second device. The data indicates whether the second device is (i) busy and cannot currently communicate with the first device or (ii) not busy and can currently communicate with the first device. The processor is configured to determine, based on whether the second device is (i) busy and cannot currently communicate with the first device or (ii) not busy and can currently communicate with the first device, whether to communicate with the second device.

An integrated circuit configured to operate in a mobile device includes a discovery generator module. The discovery generator module is configured to generate a corresponding random value for each beacon interval. A discovery control module is configured to determine a duration of time of a given beacon interval in which the mobile device is to operate in at least one of an active mode and a sleep mode. The duration of time is based on the corresponding random value generated for the given beacon interval. A physical layer (PHY) device is configured to wirelessly transmit a discovery request signal during the time the mobile device is operating in the active mode. The mobile device is partially powered down or fully powered down during the time the mobile device is operating in the sleep mode.

Systems and methods for discovering a wireless network in a peer-to-peer network
