The invention relates to a FAU-type zeolite membrane that comprises a FAU-type zeolite crystal layer incorporated in the surface porosity of at least one selected face of a porous substrate, in which the ratio between the thickness of said zeolite layer incorporated in the surface porosity of said selected face of the substrate and the total thickness of said zeolite layer is at least 70%. It also relates to processes for preparation and application of these membranes.

A non-homogeneous adsorbent is described, formed of a core and at least one continuous outer layer in which the core of said adsorbent has a volume adsorptive capacity representing at least 35% of the volume of the adsorbent and the outer layer has a diffusional selectivity greater than 5. The adsorbent is used in gas-separation processes or liquid-separation processes.

A crystallized solid of metallophosphate type, referred to by the designation IM-8 can be partially substituted by an element X and optionally by an element Y. The metallophosphate is of a chemical composition, expressed on an anhydrous basis is defined by the formula R(GPXY)Oin which G represents one or more trivalent elements, R represents one or more organic compounds, X represents one or more divalent elements, and Y represents one or more tetravalent elements, and in which s&#x2266;0.2, g&#x2266;0.5, p&#x2266;0.5, x&#x2266;0.4 and y&#x2266;0.3 with g+p+x+y=1. The crystallized solid is useful as an adsorbent.
