A load bank for testing power sources includes a load resistor assembly having a plurality of resistors which can be switched between wye and delta configurations for testing a variety of voltages and power sources requiring various load applications. First and second power connections are connected with primary and redundant power sources and a relay alternately connects the first and second power connections with the load resistor assembly for alternately testing the primary and redundant power sources while maintaining the sources electrically isolated. A damper is arranged adjacent the load resistor assembly and is operable between an open position which permits cold air to be delivered to the load resistor assembly to cool the assembly when the load bank is operating and a closed position which prevents hot air from being recirculated when the load bank is not operating.

An interchangeable accessory system for hardhats is disclosed which includes two accessory interchange assemblies that permit accessories such as face shields and welding shields to be attached to and removed from a hardhat while the hardhat remains on the head of the user.

In some embodiments a method includes receiving, from a sensor device, a signal indicative of a voltage associated with a current passing over a line that is disposed through the sensor device. The method includes receiving, from the sensor device, a signal indicative of (1) a calibrated sensitivity of the sensor device, (2) a calibrated temperature of the sensor device, and (3) an ambient temperature that was received from an ambient temperature sensor. The method includes defining an actual sensitivity of the sensor device based on (1) the calibrated sensitivity of the sensor device, (2) the calibrated temperature of the sensor device, and (3) the ambient temperature. The method includes sending a signal indicative of a modified electric current value based on (1) the voltage and (2) the actual sensitivity of the sensor device.

Sensor device and method of manufacture and use

Repeaters for use in amplifying optical data signals transmitted through undersea fiber optic cables are disclosed. Raman amplification schemes using 100 or more pump lasers are integrated into industry standard sized pressure vessels for amplifying optical data signals transmitted through one or more fiber optic pairs. Such repeaters include high density packaging to permit numerous active and passive optical components, as well as significant lengths of optical fiber, to reside within legacy sized pressure vessels.

A heating module keeps a length of erbium-doped optical fiber at a constant temperature. The heating module includes the erbium-doped optical fiber, a heating element, and a temperature sensor embedded in a flexible circuit substrate. Insulating and packaging layers may be placed around the flexible circuit substrate.

A retainer includes a device having at least one dovetail-shaped portion, a frame configured to receive the dovetail-shaped portion, and at least one expanding device. The expanding device is configured to compress the dovetail-shaped portion against the frame, thereby securing the device against the frame.
