A variable speed drive having a rotatable drive shaft, a fixed sheave fixed relative to the drive shaft and mounted for rotation with the drive shaft, a movable sheave mounted for axial movement relative to the drive shaft, a plurality of drive fingers projecting axially from one of the sheaves, each drive finger defining a finger contact, and a plurality of recesses in the other sheave, each drive finger being movably received by a corresponding one of the recesses, and each recess defining a recess contact that slidably engages the corresponding finger contact.

Dry variable speed drive mechanism

In accordance with an example embodiment, a continuous belt may include an outer surface having a first edge spaced apart from a second edge defining a belt width, and a first wear indication positioned on the outer surface near the first edge and having a first width, the first width is less than the belt width, and the first width represents the amount of allowable wear of the continuous belt.

Belt wear indication

A variable drive includes a rotatable drive shaft, a fixed sheave fixed axially relative to the drive shaft and mounted for rotation with the drive shaft, and a movable sheave mounted for axial movement relative to the drive shaft. A plurality of drive fingers project from one of the sheaves. A plurality of recesses are formed in the other sheave. Each drive finger is movably received by a corresponding one of the recesses. A bearing member is interposed between the drive fingers and the other sheave. The bearing member includes a plurality of bearing fingers. Each bearing finger is positioned between one of the drive fingers and a wall of a corresponding one of the recesses.

A bi-directional pump comprises a pump housing, and the pump housing comprises a pump outlet. A fluid pressurizer is positioned in the pump housing and configured to provide fluid flow selectively in a first direction and a second direction. A first passage and a second passage are positioned in the pump housing. A junction is fluidly positioned, in the pump housing, connecting the first and second passages to the pump outlet. A flow controller is positioned in the pump housing to move relative thereto, between a first position, placing the first passage, in fluid communication, with the pump outlet via the junction when the fluid pressurizer provides fluid flow in the first direction, and a second position placing the second passage, in fluid communication with the pump outlet, via the junction when the fluid pressurizer provides fluid flow in the second direction.

Bi-directional pump

An axle having a variable volume sump. The axle includes an axle housing that defines a gear chamber and a separate reservoir. The gear chamber and the reservoir are in fluid communication with each other via an opening. A regulator is located adjacent the opening. The regulator is operable to assume a first closed position that obstructs the opening when a temperature in the axle is below a predetermined value, and is also operable to assume a second open position that places the gear chamber and the reservoir in fluid communication via the opening when the temperature is above the predetermined value.
