Flow through connectors and pressure sensing devices as well as their methods of use are described. In some instances a pressuring sensing device may include a ceramic body with a flow path extending through the ceramic body and at least one non-ceramic body attached to the ceramic body. The at least one non-ceramic body may include one or more attachment features formed therein and the flow path extends through the at least one non-ceramic body as well.

Multi-piece flow through connector

A modular sensing apparatus includes a sensing diaphragm that accommodates a particular pressure range. A pressure port can be connected to the sensing diaphragm to provide pressure data thereof. Additionally, the modular sensing apparatus includes a connector and a temperature sensor pre-selected by a user, such that the connector is attached to a pressure port. An integrated circuit can be configured to provide a desired output for respective pressure and temperature from the sensing diaphragm and the temperatures sensor and to provide error corrections thereof. The sensing diaphragm, the temperature sensor, the integrated circuit and the connector are electrically connected utilizing flexible circuitry to form the modular sensing apparatus assembled to at least one requirement of the user in order to provide simultaneous and application independent pressure and temperature sensing data.

Modular sensing apparatus

A transducer apparatus is disclosed herein, including a method thereof for forming the transducer apparatus. A metal diaphragm can be molecularly bonded to a ceramic material to form a ceramic surface thereof. A bridge circuit is connected to the ceramic surface of the metal diaphragm. An input pressure port for pressure sensing thereof can then be provided, wherein the input pressure port is connected to the metal diaphragm to thereby form a transducer apparatus comprising the metal diaphragm, the bridge circuit and the input pressure port. The metal diaphragm is preferably welded to the input pressure. The metal diaphragm and the ceramic surface thereof preferably operate over a temperature of range of at least 40&#xb0; C. to 150&#xb0; C., as does the transducer apparatus. The transducer apparatus functions as a pressure transducer that can be used in corrosive media and high temperature applications.

Ceramic on metal pressure transducer

An optical pressure transducer includes a body for supporting therein both an input optical fiber and an output optical fiber. A light source generates input light to the input optical fiber. A force responsive diaphragm is secured to the body and deflects in response to sensed pressure. A fixed reflector and a moveable reflector, which is attached to and moves with the diaphragm, are disposed in the optical path between the input and output optical fibers and reflect at least a portion of the input light from the input optical fiber to the output optical fiber. The amount of light reflected depends upon the deflection of the diaphragm. A system for monitoring and controlling the light source, including an optical detector in a feedback arrangement, is provided such that the amount of light generated by the light source remains constant and maximized.
