A method for determining a value for an unknown picture element (pixel) T based on neighboring pixel values of a checkerboard decimated color plane. Immediate and extended neighborhood pixel values are selected. In one configuration, immediate neighborhood pixel values are averaged. In another configuration, all neighborhood pixels are averaged. A binary pattern is determined by comparing the average with each immediate and extended neighborhood pixel values. The binary pattern is reduced to identify a set of coefficients for the binary pattern. A summed cross-product is computed for the set of coefficients and each pixel value of the immediate and extended neighborhoods. In one configuration, coefficients are stored in look up tables, where different tables correspond to different input image types. In another configuration, multiple lookup tables are stored within input images, allowing different image reconstruction options based on the embedded tables. In a further configuration, an image capturing device analyzes the image being captured, and embeds a lookup table within the image corresponding to the image type for the image, e.g., fast action shot, low-lighting, portrait, etc.

Up-sampling decimated color plane data

Video data is received from multiple video receptors. A display mixer exports a first set of functions adapted to be called by one or more object libraries to create one or more generic objects. A surface/attribute manager exports a second set of functions adapted to be called by an application to manipulate the generic objects. The display mixer and the surface/attribute manager cause the generic objects to be rendered into a common draw surface. The display mixer and the surface/attribute manager manage a set of common attributes shared by the generic objects and manage attachments between the generic objects. A first object library calls a create-object function in the display mixer to create one or more first generic objects. The first object library generates display data for the first generic objects and the display mixer coordinates the display of the display data for the first generic objects.

Computer architecture for creating and manipulating displayable objects

The electrical protection circuit disclosed comprises a latchup detection circuit, a threshold detector, an oscillator, a charge pump, a switching circuit, a voltage reference and detection circuit, and a signaling circuit. The latchup detection circuit, the threshold detector, the oscillator, the charge pump, and the switching circuit cooperate to provide latchup protection for the CMOS integrated circuit. The switching circuit provides integrated reverse current protection to the CMOS integrated circuit. The voltage reference and detection circuit, the threshold detector, and the signaling circuit provides low voltage protection for the SRAM-based software-downloaded Field Programmable Gate Array of the CMOS integrated circuit.

Providing various electrical protections to a CMOS integrated circuit

A means and method for training an electronic network of analog cells. A generic universal programmer interface (GUPI) is provided to enable connection of an adaptor to a host computer via a personal computer personal programmer (PCPP) for training an ETANN chip. An opening in the top of the GUPI provides for installation of the adaptor. The adaptor of the present invention plugs into the GUPI module to provide for connecting either an ETANN chip or a Confidence Test Module (CTM) for access by the user via the host computer. A target socket located on the top surface of the adaptor allows the user to physically connect the ETANN chip or the CTM to adapter of the present invention. The adaptor provides the resources needed for training an ETANN in several modes including: digital to analog conversion for driving the ETANN's analog input pins; a single analog to digital converter with an 80 channel analog multiplexer for measuring the ETANN's analog outputs; neuron perturbation circuitry; synapse current measurement circuitry; neuron sum measurement circuitry; V.sub.PP management circuitry; a binary searching synapse weight measurement circuit; isolation switches and the logic necessary to connect all these resources to the ETANN and the GUPI base. The present invention also includes host computer software necessary to control the operation of the adapter.
