Two service signals are transmitted from a service server through a first network in such a way that users' terminal devices display personalized service data items. When service signals are filtered, a terminal device extracts common data items accessible for several terminal devices and a parameter type from a service signal identified by a stored identifier. An end address is determined by applying a stored parameter, related to the parameter type, to a pre-recorded or transmitted algorithm. The end address is transmitted, through a second network, to a server which transmits a first personalized file associated with the end address and bearing personalized data items displayed with the common data items in the device.

Service personalization in a terminal device

The invention is a method of detecting a TV off event happening on a mobile terminal equipment which is assumed to receive a broadcast service. A portable electronic device is connected to the mobile terminal equipment and, the mobile terminal equipment sends periodic commands to the portable electronic device. The mobile terminal equipment sends control messages to the portable electronic device. The control messages are related to the broadcast service. The method includes the steps of identifying a duration either according to receipt of two periodic commands of a first type or according to data contained in control messages, and identifying the TV off event if no control message has been received during that duration.

A method for loading a user interface in a television system comprising a decoder and a removable smart card cooperating with the decoder, the decoder comprising a main user interface, the method comprising the steps of loading and storing by the decoder of the totality of a user interface module stored-on the smart card, the user interface module comprising data structures making reference to information destined to a user, the information being stored on the smart card, establishing by the decoder a relation between the main user interface and the stored user interface module in order to enable access by a user to the user interface module, and subsequently exchanging between the decoder and the smart card parts of the information upon commands issued by the user through the user interface module.

Method and device for loading a user interface

The invention relates to a process for data certification as well as to the system implementing the certification process. The certification of the data is performed by scrambling. An authority independent of the entity which controls the data source and of the user(s) for which these data are intended, scrambles the data with the aid of control words and encrypts the control words with the aid of an encryption algorithm with key K. So that a user or the users can descramble the data scrambled by the independent authority, a certification verification device containing the encryption key K is supplied to the user or users under the control of the independent authority.
