An aiming device is provided including a body, an illumination device associated with the body and an optical element, where the illumination device is operable to selectively display a dot on the optical element being visible to a user. The optical element can include an upper edge and a lower edge, and the dot can display closer to the upper edge than to the lower edge, in some cases in the upper half or one third of the height of the optical element. The device can include a protective frame to which the optical element is joined, and the optical element upper edge can be unconcealed by any part of the protective frame above the upper edge, falling within an open top span of the frame. The optical element can be removable and replaceable relative to the protective frame, with a retainer plate temporarily securing the element to the frame.

Open frame sight system

An illuminable device configured to be worn by a mammal and provide visibility to the mammal includes a thermoelectric module and a light source. The illuminable device is configured to be mounted onto a mammal by an article worn by the mammal such that the thermoelectric module is in thermal contact with the mammal's body. The thermoelectric module generates electricity from a thermal gradient, produced from a mammal's body heat that is transferred to the module. The electricity generated by the thermoelectric module powers the light source to illuminate the article worn by the mammal. Related methods are also provided.

Wearable illuminable devices and related methods

A range finder for determining a distance to a target object includes a thermoelectric module and a range finding unit. The range finding unit includes a light source for emitting light onto a target object, a light receiving unit configured to receive light reflected by the target object, a distance calculation unit for calculating the distance to the target object based on the reflected light, and a display unit for displaying the calculated distance to the target object. The thermoelectric module generates electricity from a thermal gradient, produced from a user's body heat that is transferred to the module. The electricity power generated by the thermoelectric module powers the components of the range finding unit. Related methods are also provided.

Range finder devices and related methods

An aiming device including a thermoelectric module, a light source and a sight element. The thermoelectric module generates electricity from a thermal gradient, produced from a user's body heat that is transferred to the module. The electricity powers the light source. The light source illuminates a sight element of a projectile shooting device to enhance visibility of the sight element in a variety of ambient lighting conditions, optionally in low light conditions. The aiming device can be mounted to a projectile shooting device. With the aiming device, a user can selectively illuminate a sight element of a projectile shooting device, with the user's own body heat, to assist aiming the projectile shooting device during a shooting activity. The projectile shooting device can be any type of archery bow and/or firearm. Related methods are also provided.

Illuminated aiming devices and related methods

A tool for archery broadheads or other fasteners is provided including an engagement end having an aperture, socket or drive feature to accommodate the broadhead or engage a fastener. The tool is constructed at least partially from an elastomeric material. Upon application of a moment to the tool by a user, part of the tool deforms or twists so that indicia elements move relative to one another and output torque or moment information to a user based on the spatial orientation of the indicia elements relative to one another.

A drop away arrow rest includes programmable or coded magnets that selectively move an arrow support arm to predetermined positions, such as a support position to hold an arrow, or a rest position to move out of the way of an arrow as it is launched from an archery bow.

An archery bow is provided including an archery component such as a cable guard and/or cable guide that includes an e-coat film to minimize wear abrasion on a cable, bowstring or other element. A metal surface of an archery component optionally can be immersed in a bath of charged coating particles, and the metal surface can be caused to have an electrical charge. The charged coating particles can be electrodeposited on the metal surface to provide a coating.

An archery bow is provided including a cable guard and/or cable guide that can flex to selectively move a cable relative to a plane in which a bowstring of the bow travels to minimize cam lean, limb twist, and/or cable wear. The cable guard and/or guide can move toward the bowstring plane as the bowstring is drawn, and away from the bowstring plane, out of the way of the bowstring and any attached arrow, after the bowstring is released. The cable guard can define a bore, for example, an elongated bore, extending through it along an axis that is generally parallel to the bowstring when the bowstring is undrawn. The cable guard bore can operate as a cable guide, and can include a rounded opening to minimize abrasion to a cable moving through it. A ceramic element can be included in the bore to minimize abrasion to the cable.

Cable guard and guides for archery bows

An archery bow includes a cable guard and an optional cable guide that holds a cable of the bow away from a plane in which a bowstring of the bow moves. The cable guard can define a bore, through which the cable is positioned, extending generally parallel to the bowstring when the bowstring is in an undrawn state. The cable guard bore can include a rounded opening to minimize abrasion to the cable. The cable guide can include a ceramic element having a rounded surface to minimize abrasion to the cable. The ceramic element can be included in an immovable or stationary cable guide, as well as an alternative cable guide including moving components, to engage and hold the cable away from the bowstring, while minimizing abrasion and/or friction on the cable.

A bowstring suppressor for an archery bow including a suppressor assembly and/or a bowstring attachment element. The assembly can include a housing within which resilient elastomeric elements are located. A push rod can be telescopically joined with the housing and located near the resilient elements. An engagement element can be joined with the push rod and can be engaged by a bowstring when an arrow is shot from the bow. The push rod can move toward the resilient elements and compress them when the bowstring engages the engagement element. Compression of the resilient elements provides energy absorption, vibration absorption and/or dampening in relation to energy generated by the bow. A string attachment element can be joined with the bowstring and can engage the suppressor assembly, with the attachment element seating in and optionally deforming the engagement element, which in turn, restrains lateral and vertical movement of the bowstring.

Bowstring suppressor

A speed nock for use with an archery bow includes a first enlarged portion and a second enlarged portion connected via a central portion. The central portion has a maximum dimension smaller than maximum dimensions of the first and second enlarged portions. The central portion is positioned between strands of a bowstring of the bow so that the strands pinch the central portion, at least assisting in holding the speed nock in place along the bowstring. The speed nock can be moved along the bowstring to a selected location that maximizes energy imparted to an arrow shot from the archery bow, and thus the speed of the arrow. A related method of using the speed nock above is also provided.
